The Curious Case of VAR 11:58 - Jan 14 with 1185 viewsChris_ITFC

November 2018: Premier League clubs voted unanimously to introduce VAR in season 2019/20.

January 2026: All this time later, there is not even the remotest discussion of VAR being introduced to the Championship.

Is that because the chaos of the Championship is sacrosanct?

Or is it actually just bonkers that the ‘greatest league in the world’ is continuing to use VAR, because they’re just too stubborn and cowardly to admit they’d never adopt it now? Isn’t that absolutely mad?

Why we voted for VAR is literally in my post.
However, it would have taken 12 clubs to vote against it or something on that level.

It was 19-1

Being promised changes to fix the issues does not explain the reason ITFC voted for it in my opinion. If they said they surveyed supporters and we wanted it, that would be a reason. It cost a lot of money to install it, and it makes the experience for fans worse.
