Not just because of the recent grok AI malarkey, but because the owner has such disrespect for democratic governments that he refuses to make his hate filled platform a safe place for the users. It could easily be claimed that using it generates reputational damage. Football clubs in general still seem keen to use it and that is all I use it for - e.g. team news. Perhaps there should be a mass transfer of clubs to an alternative medium. I haven't done this as a poll as I am more interested in seeing a discussion than just a count of yesses and noes.

Yes, nobody in their right mind should use Twitter as their primary platform anymore. But if they refuse to leave it for commercial reasons (it's still the biggest micro-blogging site), they should at least cross-post to Blue Sky. Way things are going, only posting on Twitter will become like refusing to give interviews except to the Daily Express. Learning team news is the only reason I still go on Twitter, and I resent the club for that. BlueSky now has > 40m users and is growing at a much faster rate than Twitter.

Bluesky daily usage is recorded as between 1.5-3.5 million, twitter is between 200-250 million, twitters numbers and daily usage is dropping, similarly Bluesky was 3.5 in early 2025 & by Sept 25 had dropped to 1.5m. US elections certainly boosted bluesky's registered users.

I didn't realise Twitter/X existed after about 2020, the 10-15 years before that it was ok. I thought it broke and everyone left to join other means of connecting with real people like big whatsapp or telegram groups rather than communicate with bots and tweet factory apprentices.

The club will serve the fans. It's easy to say they should leave X (has ANY club in the top 4 leagues in England left?). It's harder to say I won't use X and you will find me on Bluesky.

If enough fans do that then they will go to Bluesky as well. While you all sit on X having the best of both worlds by engaging on there AND complaining about it they will continue to serve you on X.

Possibly, but at least it won't have an algorithm pumping out far right accounts and racism and CSAM. Although one of the otherissues with Bluesky is that a lot of Americans on it struggle with the concept of jokes.

ITFC should definitely have an active Bluesky account by now, not sure how much that would help with the dearth of football content on there.

If you are on WhatsApp the club send out the team news on their channel there just as quickly as on Twitter I find.

Are you saying they’re all taken down if they have a particular viewpoint though? There are loads of journalists from left wing publications, center left figures and quite far left accounts posting loads of the stuff you describe. Elder Grizzly and co link them here all the time lol.

The idea that it’s some stain of ITFC because of personal opinion of a platform is pretty ludicrous really and won’t be shared by the entire fanbase. Every club is on there and it will remain so when they have hundreds of thousands or millions of followers.

It’s a personal choice so if people want they can just delete. Plenty of other options of to where to get your ITFC news from socials or independent sites.

I'm not really commenting in an ITFC presence as I say I use it myself at least for now. It was more a comment on Musk and others who love X (Farage, Robinson, Hopkins, etc) who declare free speech for all but equally froth at the thought of shutting the BBC down.

I know I'm not a football club, but when I decided to leave X I had 20,000 followers that I lost. They were of huge value to me for professional, cultural and social reasons but it was (over a year ago) a cesspit of homophobia, racism, bots, trolls and fascist enabling loons. It's much worse now. Some things are more important than follower numbers or the perceived benefit of them, and any organisation that claims to be about community and doing good should realise it. I think it's embarrassing they are still on there.

It’s the one place you don’t have to worry about the owners going full-on Nazi, or the platform degenerating, or whatever. I guess they could set up their own Fedi server, but that’s somewhat unlikely

Whatever they post would be shared on social media anyway.
