| Jenrick sacked on 13:52 - Jan 15 by GlasgowBlue | Six months ago you'd have had him odds on to oust Kemi from the Tory leadership but she's been on play off form since then and looks fairly secure so his only ambition left would have been to oust Farage in a year or so. I can't help but think these Tories joining Reform must all have an eye on the leadership. |
Play off form?!? LOL, in your dreams.

| Jenrick sacked on 14:34 - Jan 15 with 408 views | OldFart71 | I think for a Party professing itself as being the next to be elected they are playing a dangerous game. The Tories were booted out because of 14 years that not all their problems were self-inflicted. But they managed to turn them into problems for themselves such as the pandemic where although a time when this hasn't happened in my lifetime managed to totally mismanage the procurement of PPE. Whoever oversaw this should have been sacked as even prior to the pandemic warehouses were stacked with unusable PPE. Anyone with the slightest knowledge of running stores knows that you rotate your stock. But we were left with having to buy new stock and people in the know were allowed to set up businesses to take advantage. Also the furlough scheme was massively abused. But back to what is currently happening, the large defections to Reform. AS with what Labour are doing with council voting these Tories are defecting to save themselves. But it may put off those that would vote Reform as all you/I would be doing is voting Tory in another guise. | | | |

I can't see what Dolly has posted but it's universally accepted that after a very poor start, Kemi has been coming out on top at PMQ's. And whoever fed Starmer that kama Sutra line should be sacked. Tories 2nd and Labour 3rd in all polls I've seen since the turn of the year.

Kemi doing well at PMQs means very little for her electability though. The only people who notice it are the small minority who are interested in politics. The thousands singing “Starmer is a w*nker” at the darts or the football have probably never even heard of her - but they’re more representative of the masses, who are turned off by Starmer and have heard of Farage. (not saying I agree with them)

it was you that made the playoff analogy! agree on the polls, though it's incredibly tight, but it certainly isn't "universally" accepted that badenoch is winning pmqs, always seems very wooden and is even worse at pre-prepared lines than starmer!

Well her recent good performances coincided with her party overtake labour in the polls edit. Also reflected in her popularity ratings rising. https://yougov.co.uk/politics/ [Post edited 15 Jan 18:56]

Yes. Play off form is a correct analogy. She was in the relegation zone. Play off form will take her up the table but probably miss out on the play offs themselves and definitely won't win the league. Dolly would understand this analogy as he used to bang in about how great Paul Jewell was for finishing 11th thanks to "second half of the season play off form".

I detest the tories with every sinew of my body but I have to say that Badenoch has played a blinder here and I expect a poll bounce on the back of this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/liv

Yeah. I wondered this. "Well known Labour figure" does not necessarily mean they are a current MP though. 30p Lee was once a "Well known Labour figure".

I haven't voted for the Tories since 2019. I didn't vote in 2019 because the Tories were led by an incompetent racist and Labour were led by a racist incompetent. I voted voted Labour in 2024 after they deloused the party by kicking out Corbyn. I'll vote Labour again next time around. But at heart I am centre right politically, and if the Tories can get rid of their headbangers and become a natural home again for the likes of David Gauke then I would be persuaded to vote for them in the future.
