It really irritates me when two players go for the same ball or a corner is needlessly conceded or a player is tackled on the blindside because no-one shouted
"Mine!" or "Leave!" or "Keepers ball!" or "Man on!"
Why can't some players shout or talk to each other sometimes?!

Not sure if this is an annoyance, more of a 'why does everyone do it this way when there are cleverer things you can do?'.... you know when there is a penalty being taken and everyone who is not the keeper or the player taking the pen, defenders and attackers, line up right on the edge of the penalty area (usually a few of them encroach when the ball is struck), surely it would make more sense for players to start a few yards back, and synchronise a sprint with the penalty takers run up so they are at maximum speed and juuuust about to cross the penalty area line when the ball is struck, so as to maximise their chance of getting to any rebound if the keeper saves it. | | | |

I did see an ex pro say, cannot for the life of me think where, but say the bringing down of the a indicates “I’m taking it” so they know when to start their runs/movements. That makes sense but the number of arms, is either a bluff or means nothing. | | | |

Mine is as boring and predictable as they come - all the shoving and hands-on each other in the box when a corner or similar set piece is being played in. I know it's gone on a long time but seems to have reached a new peak lately with play regularly being held up while the ref tries to deal with it. |  |

Introduce a new rule. Ref identifies the players holding, pushing etc and despite ball not being in play these players have to stand outside the penalty area until that phase of play completed, ie keeper collects, goal or clearance. In the event of an immediate corner they are still banished.
Ref can identify them because they often delay play to have a word with them. | | | |

As it's the only pre-corner signal we ever see, I think it means "the thing we've been practising in training, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to clear the first defender." |
They do it for all dead ball kicks. I've even seen keepers do it. And once, someone taking a throw-in.

Exactly that. It does seem to have got worse than ever, or at the very least they're not trying to do it subtly any more. We're as guilty of it as other teams, but something ought to be done about cutting it out. |  |

I know it's a ship that's long since sailed and ain't ever coming back, but I wish winning teams in big games would shake the hands of the opposition before starting their big celebrations. They still manage it in other sports. I particularly dislike the way unused substitutes pile on before the players who actually played have had the chance to shake hands. |  | | |

Two main things come to mind
Firstly when a player thinks they are fouled and grabs the ball before the referee has blown for a foul. Blatant attempt to referee the game yourself and put pressure on the ref to award a foul. I always chuckle when a yellow is given for handball in this situation.
Also silly stuttering penalty run ups. Half the time it's part of a player's 'brand' ie I'm a baller because I have a signature penalty stutter.
Trademark celebrations can get in the bin too (used to be fun in the good old days when you had the Shearer arm in the air, Robbie Keane firing an arrow, but ever since Ronaldo introduced his backwards jump it's become cringey - Jadens celebration for example and there are countless others) |  | | |
