but liverpool, Looked like a pen to the away team, but no checks, commentator just said ref played on so no var

then just now, napoli goal. first pass looked like the striker was offside, he got the ball, then there was a 2nd phase of play which they scored from.. but wouldn't VAR normally chalk that off because of the offside in the build up

It's used correctly in Europe, a lot of games don't even see it used once.

Haven't you just described VAR in this country? You are saying it hasn't got involved in a couple of apparently clearly wrong decisions, you just need it to get involved in overturning a perfectly valid one too and take 5-10 minutes to decide it and it will be the same.
