Equally, it's *still* in our hands even as it stands. I do feel like these fabled games in hand have fecked us in some way. Always better to have the points on the board IMO.

Neither of them could score at home v Oxford. These 'difficult' trips to St Andrews and Bramall Lane are red herrings designed to get our hopes up. [Post edited 2 Mar 21:33]

‘We’re fortunate our home form is as prolific as it is’. I hate comments like this. It’s not fortune that we’ve won a huge amount of our home games and are top of the league for home form. That’s not ‘fortune’ or luck.

Just because Middlesbrough are likely to beat Birmingham doesn't mean they are going to walk over QPR or Charlton. This league always throws up surprises. There will likely be a few more yet, seeing as there's still nearly a quarter of the season left!

We will really need to take maximum points from the next 2 home games especially as after that 7 of our 11 remaining games will be away from home. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not sure about your last comment. There's been plenty of reasons why ppl aren't as confident as 2023/24. Our flaky away form is testament to that. Don't get me wrong, there have been some really encouraging performances in recent weeks, but do this group have it in them to win 5-6 of those 7 away games in our final 11 fixtures? We have no margin for error. Have to say it feels like we're the 23/24 Leeds of 25/26.

short memory...were people really confident we were going to overtake Leeds at this pointin the season?? Plenty were saying we'd blown it losing to Cardiff and Norwich, drawing to Watford, Boro and even Hull....just so happened Leeds blew up, we show no signs of doing so, running at 2ppg and stellar home form.... it's all in our hands.

Yes but in your analogy WE are Leeds. Big spenders. Huge quality, simply don’t want it as much as some other teams. Boro don’t have out quality. They don’t have out resources. When I watch them though, there isn’t a side in this division wants it more. We HAD that. We no longer do. We might still do it, quality and depth is there, but if we had their desire we’d be doing a Burnley and looking at 100 points and already planning the open top bus. We aren’t! .., and with good reason. We’ll see where we end up. But we are less than the sum of the parts. Neil could be huge, but that alone says everything.
| Teams who can go and win at Shef U and Birmingham on 23:09 - Mar 2 with 627 views | SuffolkPunchFC | If the season is decided on 1 or 2 results, why choose mid-table clubs? Why not choose the team(s) at the top? How many teams have gone to Coventry and won? Truth is, no one or two results in isolation define a season. | | | |

No, in my analogy, we are Ipswich, currently behind the team in 2nd, looking to overtake them. Don't deny we've invested in a more talented squad this time around. Our issue was the first month, when we were still rotating out players after relegation and then rebuilding for the season, and that was always going to be our issue this season. Since then, we have been consistently the top or 2nd best performing team running at 2ppg. We're competing with two teams that have settled squads and a degree of momentum, as well as being very consistent.

My favourite of this genre was on twitter a couple weeks back and a town fan moaning that we’re only where we are in the league table because our big players have had big moments. You can’t make this stuff up. [Post edited 2 Mar 23:36]

You pays your money and you take your choice. It's in our hands, if we don't make it, it's our fault, no one elses.
