Strangely we feel short of left sided attacking options 21:16 - Mar 3 with 806 viewsredrickstuhaart

Clarke endlessly running into dead ends and slowing things down.

And that was an awful miss. So casual.

Awful miss too. That would have been game over if he could have been arsed to make sure. He’s been poor tonight and we look so much better with Mehmeti.

You're watching a different game to me fella, he's had one of his best games for us.

Pretty standard Clarke. Head down, run into problem, fall over or lose possession.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Too often holds onto it when we have breaks on and lets the oppo get numbers behind the ball. It drives me nuts. It’s fine when he scores of course, but he’s been double marked out of this game (so far)

A major issue is that he always cuts in. Bringing the full back with him. Making the space even more crowded.

I remain unconvinced by him tbh.

He's decent but ultimately pretty frustrating. Doesn't look up, doesn't bring others into the game. Just runs at people until they stand him up and then he loses possession or falls over 9/10 times.

He gets thousands of chances in the championship so his numbers arent woeful but week in week out he's like watching a blind squirrel who occasionally finds a nut.

What drives me nuts is how he waits for the ball to come to him at times. The cross field pass he stood on the touchline and let go over his head, for an extreme example.

Super talented but my god he can be a frustrating watch

Think the main problem today was that Leif wasn’t playing. When he is he overlaps and stretches play and gives him an option either way. Puts doubt in the defenders mind and gives him more space to work with. Greaves has done a decent job covering but he doesn’t overlap in the same way (no shame in that!), which meant they were always able to double up on him when he went inside. Looked so much better with Leif out there. Don’t think he has a bad game at all though, and his work rate chasing down their back line in the 90th minute was so good.

You have to see the game for what it was surely! They had everyone behind the ball so no space to exploit so it's all moving the ball and trying to find gaps. Hull did their best to make it a non game. Wingers were never going to be getting much joy in behind.

We needed to get a 1-0 tonight and we got it done. Should have been 2-0 of course and that was poor by Clarke but he is normally very reliable at finishing

4 pens so 8 in my book. Only one assist.

He's the beneficiary of massive stat padding.

He's also literally missed a tap in from 2 yards today.

I for one am overjoyed we have him on pens, as it’s been far from clinical of recent times,

Criticising Clarke this season seems a bit bizarre

I like clarke when we are ahead and hes come on to finish a game. His defensive tracking is pretty solid at those times too.

I just struggle to enjoy Clarke when he starts games.

Hes similar but different to egeli in that he likes to drop a shoulder and come inside. But hes different in that occasionally he will go outside.

But he drops inside so deep inside his own half at times it leads to turnovers and slows attacks down imo.

If we can get philogene back and have Clarke coming on and finishing that would be amazing

Indeed, if he'd played away at Boro then we'd quite possibly be in second place already.

I guess that after three wins in a week somebody has to go to the top of the scapegoaters list.

Firstly, he didn’t miss that chance. He got the ball on target and 99 times in a hundred it goes in. The keeper made a brilliant save and the credit goes to him. Had he ballooned it over the bar or missed it altogether, I’d agree, but in that instance he really didn’t do too much wrong.

However people wish to massage the stats he’s scored 12 this season. That’s good going considering he’s been sub for plenty of games, including last Saturday.

He’s one heck of a player and I for one enjoy watching him play.

Just wish he could find shorts that weren’t the size of Hattie Jacques’ bloomers and sort the hair out.

I know it’s all about opinions, but “he’s had one of his best games for us”…. Really?!

The cross field pass that he didn’t come and meet and just let go out of play summed him up for me, sloppy.

He’s been great this season, but to say last night was one of his best for us is just not true.

RIP Sir Bobby
