That certainly wasn’t pretty…… 04:01 - Mar 4 with 501 viewsChrisd

However this time in the season it’s not performances that matter, but the points. Middlesbrough piled on the pressure after their impressive win on Monday night at Birmingham, our management and players would’ve been feeling that. Hook or by crook we just had to get those 3pts and we did it, thankfully.

It's worth remembering that Hull have had that game plan away all season and it's worked against basically everyone. I know we were at home but it's hard to understate how good of a result it is.

Maybe not pretty but this team has a ruthless efficiency about it. We strangled them slowly. And once we get a lead it’s only a question of how many we get.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Hard to be pretty when one side wants to play deep and waste time all game.
All that matters right now is results.

Frankly I was disappointed with Hull. Nobody would suggest they go gung ho against us as those that have in the main have been ripped apart.
But two banks of four for most of the match and time wasting at an early stage showed their intent.
It was a kind of moment when Matisuwa's goal went in where you had a "Take that" moment. Where you feel a side showing a desire to win the game came good.
We did kind of fall apart after our and their changes where with a bit more control, a bit more move and pass would have seen the game out comfortable.

Hull were the better team in that final 20mins, I’m not a fan of McBurnie but I thought he did well during that period. We seemed a bit flustered at times and lacked composure, but thankfully no harm done.
