| Suggestions for Trump-o-metrics which might predict his shutdown? 09:14 - Apr 3 with 250 views | NthQldITFC | I'm thinking you might be able to find some measurable which, when plotted against time, might indicate a trend towards his alleged brain shutting down and an opportunity at least for the world to get back on course. My best thought so far is how frequently per day he contradicts himself within five seconds. "They didn't come when we needed them"... tick, tick, tick... "We didn't need them" "The war is won"... tick, tick, tick... "We're gonna bomb the hell ought of 'em" "It's a regime change"... tick, tick, tick... "We don't need a regime change" "I love Pam Bondi"... tick, tick, tick... "Pam Bondi sucks" I think that curve is trending significantly upwards fitting something like y = knob ᵗᵘʳᵈ + ahole, but is there some better metric? | |

| Suggestions for Trump-o-metrics which might predict his shutdown? on 09:45 - Apr 3 with 199 views | Guthrum | Trump has always done that. He's sold on the idea that unpredictability keeps opponents off balance and gives an advantage in dealmaking. Indeed, the word salad and constantly shifting views are useful in that his cultists can read what they want to hear into his utterances. They don't get challenged, because he will say something different tomorrow - or it was largely incoherent ramblings in the first place. However, unlike his career as a developer, or first term as President, there are no longer competent people around him to pick up the pieces and do the serious work. Moreover, what may be effective in real estate doesn't transfer well to the world of diplomacy, where those he is dealing with have agendas and motivations far beyond simply making as much money as possible in the fastest time. I'm not convinced he is much more erratic than he was, just there is now less of a buffer and nobody restraining/limiting his performances. | |

He rattled through them a fair bit in his first term. This time I think it's started slowly because Trump has surrounded himself with loyalists, who have to fail for incompetence rather than simply disagreeing with him. | |
