Doubt it. People always overestimate the impact of this type of thing.

Even the protest would do well to get to three figures.

Here we go again. J2 hot-take: Ipswich fans don't care, whereas the best evidence says Ipswich fans want Ashton out by a big majority. Around two-thirds want him gone:

Prediction: there will be fights in the stands before the season is over. T-shirts or badges or chants, people from either side are going to snap at some point.

So again, thanks Mark and Luke for putting your egos ahead of the club at a critical point of the season.

No there won’t be any fights in the stands.

I've replied to that.

You are desperate for it to be a big event. I don't think it will be. In 48 hours we will know won't we?

Starting to remind me of Brexit. 52% voted out. Since then support has been steadily declining yet the likes of Farage point to the 52%. During an international break where there was nothing else to talk about people were initially raging. We can agree on that. Since then it has slowly gone from literally every topic on the forum to a few threads per day largely started by the same people.

I have never said Ipswich fans don't care. I don't think the majority care enough to protest. I don't think the majority would be happy with anti Ashton chants during the game.

It's hardly a hot take just because you don't want it to be true. Soon we will know won't we? I am not going anywhere. If I am wrong, I will own it.

Football, beer, and politics can be a toxic mix. People came to blows over Mathie v Scowcroft so not too hard to imagine a Farage chant here or there will spark something.

Yea I know. As far as I can see, to vote Reform, you either need to be a massive c### or very angry and looking for someone to blame.

I don't think he's a massive c###. Maybe he's very angry? But doesn't seem like it. So what benefit is there to vote for them? For someone who enjoys a pint and a ride on his bike it just makes zero sense to vote for them and have them dismantle the NHS etc.

I know someone will reply with comments he made years and years ago. I am just not buying it that he would put the cross in their box.

Indeed you did, with one word: I'm "dreaming". "Bill hooks" - very comprehensive and analytical lads.

"52% voted out. Since then support has been steadily declining yet the likes of Farage point to the 52%" - Reform are on 23 - 26% in polls. I don't know what point you're making.

"people aren't posting as much" - yet here we are. I could say support for Ashton isn't being posted much, so nobody wants him to remain, but that would be equally worthless.

I think we're talking about two separate things. You're trying to predict how many people will arrive two hours early for a protest, whereas I'm talking about wider sentiment of the Ipswich fans who will attend tomorrow/regularly. Your disparaging of the evidence we want Ashton out by a big majority is a hot take.

FFS mate, get your head out of the sand. He has spent the last god knows how many years saying how great Farage is, and how he has his vote. Ignore the stupid attention seeking comments from years ago, but look at the stuff he (and people like him) says on a daily basis now.

Your approach pretty much everything related to politics seems to be to downplay, assume better of people than the evidence suggests, or to mildly mock those who voice concerns.

You seem like a good egg, but perhaps have a blind spot on stuff like this, as when it comes down to it your actual position seems to be pretty close to those you are inclined to mock, rather than the likes of Benters.

I'd tend to agree. I don't think these "stats" really help anyone.

Also, it's not even 2/3rds of TWTD posters. It is 2/3rds of posters who saw the poll and could be arsed to vote in it. And even then, it's a big assumption that everyone voted honestly.

Hell, even massive polling organisations get it wrong on far larger userbases, on a much more statistically significant sample size, with far more rigorous methodologies.

As much as it saddens me to say, I think relying on TWTD polls to back an argument is shaky ground.

As I have said, I think he's playing an exaggerated version of himself. Once people on here decide you are something, it sticks for life. No doubt it's based on a bit of truth.

I completely disagree with this. Is it me mocking people with 'Very Real Concerns'? Or the same few posters mocking other people? I may assume individuals are better but not society as a whole. I have posted repeatedly that Reform are a big threat. I don't think people know what they are voting for. It seems to be this idea that the country is broken and none of the main parties can fix it so let's give Reform a go which is insane.

There is a significant flaw in your conclusion, and any AI bot is only as good as the data provided to it.

It is true that a sample of one or two hundred can provide results that can be considered to be accurate to within +/-10% BUT as any good statistician will tell you, that is only true if the sample is carefully and independently selected to be truly representative. There can be no chance of that with the TWTD polls as a) the participants have not been selected to ensure they are representative of the wider population (which BTW is far larger than 28k - our support goes way beyond the walls of PR) and b) by participating in the TWTD forum debates, those participating in the polls have an inherent bias.

For crying out loud guys, we are there Monday to support our football club in their bid to get to the Premier league but you lot want to sell and wear mickey mouse t shirts and badges.
Get a grip of yourselves or stay away.

It is possible to support the club and demonstrate your intolerance of and rejection of racism.

It is Ashton who has brought this about and as soon as he is sacked, it will no longer be an issue. It's that simple.

Whilst he remains in place, those who keep silent are tacitly accepting Ashton's promotion of Farage through the club.

The only way Benters isn't voting Reform is if his whole persona on here is one big troll. Which is quite plausible.

That or he decides to go with Lowe's lot instead.

It would take an incredible level of trolling to post the stuff he constantly does and not to actually support them. And, if you can't see that, I would really question your ability to judge comments. Do you think Benters is simply a massive troll?
