Four more wins do it? 13:29 - Apr 7 with 1564 viewskizaitfc

If so we could do that without winning the 'tough' matches

Beat Pompey, Charlton, West Brom and QPR, assuming the other two don't win their remaining 5 games I think that would do us.

Beating Boro would obviously be huge though!

It'd probably be fine, although Boro still have their Sheff Weds card to play and will also highly fancy their other two home games vs Pompey and Watford so you'd rather not have everything hang on their games here & at Wrexham.

I think four wins does it but only because I don't expect the others to win five - very much our job to stop Boro doing that by getting a result against them next week. It could be as much as all over by the end of that game.

If so, let’s win the next four and have a more relaxing end to the season. My brain is frazzled from looking at the fixtures and imaging multiple different scenarios after each game.

I think Pompey will give them a game,if they need the points, it’s not going to be easy for us down there either though. Watford are a funny old team. On their day they can be a real handful.Sheffield Wednesday gave Leicester a bit of a shock yesterday too. I know Leicester are struggling but they still have way more quality than Sheffield Wednesday. Nothing is certain in this league, including ourselves. We can blow very hot or very cold.

4 wins should do it, especially if 1 is Vs Middlesborough.

However, we've got 5 away games out of 7 so not quite as easy as its looks. Lets hope we can start these 7 games with a win....!

Boro love not winning easier home games.

Don’t think there any easy games I’m afraid - West Brom for example! on 14:07 - Apr 7 with 1305 viewsunstableblue

I thought Brum would be easy… but I think that’s second half team talk (came out late as a team - or was that Town early) from their manager who’s fighting for his job was a team wanting to put down a marker before going into beach mode. They tried to take the game to us, and did.

I do think QPR may be in beach mode by the time we get to them.

But West Brom are one of the form teams in the league, unbeaten in a while. I do think Millwall who play them this Saturday will get Albion in full on survival confirmation mode. Maybe that will have eased when we get to them?!

Pompey - are in the more… a midweek down there is never easy.

Beat Norwich
Beat Pompey
Beat Boro

Do that and 12 days from now we'll be as good as up.

I still don't quite believe we 'only' need 4 wins. Feels like we've gone from needing to win every game, to having a fair amount of wiggle room. I suppose the Farage stuff and Southampton postponement have meant we've not been as focussed on football. Then one win and all of a sudden we're in a great spot.

I suppose Boro getting 2 wins out of 10 and Millwall losing 2 in 4 has helped massively. The games in hand feel huge now, as boro and millwall have much less wiggle room.

It’s a rollercoaster. And if we lose to scum and Boro and Milwall both win then all of a sudden we’re 3 pts behind and looking to get something at a desperate Pompey. Feels like it’s not going to be easy or straightforward. But it’s in our hands. At least we’re not relying on other results. Yet…

A lot will depend on our result against Boro.

I we lose, that puts us under huge pressure in our other matches.

Boro could win 4 on the spin if they beat us (Pompey, Us, Sheff Weds and Watford) meaning they could go to Wrexham on the final day with it in their hands.

There will be twists and turns yet.

The worry I would have if I were a Coventry supporter is that there has been so much talk from Sky et al as though it done and dusted that they take their foot off the gas and drop points.

That said, their run in is

Wednesday (H)
Blackburn (A)
Portsmouth (H)
Wrexham (H)
Watford (A)

I reckon they take 10 points from that, unless like I say, the mentality slips.

If we get 14 from our remaining 7 then it all ends up with us is a situation where Millwall and Boro need to win all 5 of their remaining games to catch us on 86 in second, and Cov top on 94

Coventry don't have anything to worry about.

Unless they get 2 players sent off, they'll comfortably beat Sheff Weds and have 87 points with a superior goal difference. Boro and Millwall can only get to 87 points if they win all 5 of their remaining matches.

What are you on about? I said I thought Cov would end up on 94 points.

I'm talking about being pipped to the title. Unlikely, but I would be concerned about that if I were a Coventry fan.

I was replying to your post which said 'The worry I would have if I were a Coventry supporter is that there has been so much talk from Sky et al as though it done and dusted that they take their foot off the gas and drop points.'

I read this as meaning they could falter and miss out on promotion.

I think that Town for whatever reason are consistently crap after an International break and the fact that we won makes it all the more pleasing.
If the ball didn't cross the line well that certainly made up a bit for the four points we were rob of with pens not given and the one against given.
By my reckoning we are still owed a couple more points by the refs. So come on Saturday ref, how about it ?

It's not inconceivable that Millwall and Middlesbrough can win their last five. Despite the latter's lack of form, it's perfectly doable and Middlesbrough have already done it this season. Therefore we have to try and win at least five.

Not that we can or the players will think like that. It has to be a mantra of trying to win the next game and take it from there.
