If we don’t finish top 2, then I can’t see us going up. Southampton are playing with such confidence and importantly have momentum, they look a serious threat for promotion. It really is a fight to the finish between four teams.
The good news is we have to play two of the other three, the prize is ours to lose and every one of our seven games will be live on Sky. Shy must be wetting themselves at the prospect of a genuine must win game when we travel to Southampton.
Southampton, last night, showed the togetherness we did two years ago . It is what we do that matters, we don’t have to win every game we can probably afford to drop points in three games.

Just adding to what I have said. Currently unless my calculations are incorrect with our superior goal difference we actual only need 84 points. Of course that could change in seven games. But we would have to be very leaky to let in 10 goals more than we score in the seven games and hopefully Saints aren't going to score two goals more in every game than they let in.
All ifs and but's I know and this season has been so unpredictable with Coventry coming back to the pack and then roaring away again. Boro having a real wobble at the moment.

Yes, I agree. It's of course far more nuanced than simple numerical analysis, since it depends on what the other team needs out of the game. OF the 7, I'd say 2 will have little to play for, but the other 5 will have something to play for. I suspect that will suit us, but it does come with risk. There could be some great games. | | | |
