| Today's special: The Hormuz taco on 08:11 - Apr 8 with 620 views | Guthrum | ... ish. Netanyahu wants to carry on bombing Lebanon. Given the declared (if variable) war aims and the alleged terms of the armistice, who actually won? Some sources saying the Iranians have had to give up very little and gained tacit control of Hormuz, with tolling rights. | |

With Iran charging for passage through the Strait and sanctions lifted on Russian oil, the world's two most vile regimes are raking in the cash while the rest of the world is suffering financially. A tremendous victory!

He's even managed to split his own political backing in the US. Half the MAGA lot really don't like him any more.

He had to do something before the mid-terms to save his own skin. Im expecting more blustering, whataboutery and claims of "wins" in the next 2 weeks from him. they say that winners write the history books. im not sure what they'll say about this in 100 years time.

I suspect strongly that this has backfired. The middle ground in US politics is quite small, but this has not made them like him any more after the lethal ICE fiasco. The latter having badly affected the Latino community, who helped him into power. Doubt so many of them will be keen on giving their support again. Some of the MAGA lot are annoyed that he's further increased the cost of living by concentrating on foreign entanglements - exactly the opposite of what they want. Then there's the approximately 45% of US electorate who back the Democrats and are never going to vote for Trump.
