| That one felt better 08:29 - Apr 12 with 294 views | DeliasMashedPotato | Obviously the home victory to beat that lot felt brilliant, first win in all those years etc etc. But going into that game they were a mess, every budgie I spoke to or online were resigned to a defeat and it felt like the carpet was rolled out for an ipswich win with pre-existing question marks over Manning's head. We discovered soon after those long awaited celebrations that beating Norwich wasn't a unique experience and more thumpings ensued by pretty much every other club they faced until Clements Arrival. This time around, things were different. They were winning games and full of confidence, i heard predictions of 3-0, 4-0, 5-0. "Phillipe is the messiah" Ipswich are rubbish away" If it wasn't for Manning we would have won the league". Confidence at an all time high around those parts, blinded by wins against cov and millwall and they were utterly convinced they would beat us. Then along came Town. To go there, silence the crowd early and to resign them to basically no chances and ultimately see out victory with as comfortable a clean sheet you will ever see feels incredible. Bubble well and truly burst and you can tell by their post match reactions it has absolutely stunned them. COYB!! | | | | |
| Hilarious innit on 08:36 - Apr 12 with 240 views | Dyland | They had fair reason to feel confident, but not overly so. I was the least nervous I've been in ages, the way this topsy turvy season has gone plus our woeful record there in recent years and a handful of traumatic defeats and draws. What will be will be, and hopefully a good game and a draw is fine but a victory always possible and that would be massive for us. As the game rolled on I couldn't really believe it. Set piece after set piece but no way through. Ended up not really bothered we'd given away another corner. O'Shea and Greaves absolutely immense! They didn't really lay a glove on us. A marvellously prosaic game and a sh1te bottle job ref which for once worked in our favour. | |
