| Hay Baldies..advice please 17:45 - Apr 13 with 2127 views | BlacknGoldnBlue | I've reached an age when my flowing locks no longer flow. So yesterday I shaved my head and I'm quite happy with the result. However, I would like advice on how often you shave your head? Any tips? Which is better, a wet shave or electric razor? How about aftercare? Help a new baldie out! | |

| Hay Baldies..advice please on 10:33 - Apr 14 with 298 views | IPS_wich | A really interesting thread - I turn 52 next months and have a full head of hair with no thinning or receding. A quick ChatGPT query later and I realise I'm in the minority - with only 40% of men turning 50 with no visible sign of hair loss. It seems that this then drops by 5% every 5 years with 35% showing no loss at age 55, then 30% at age 60 and then 25% at age 65. My Dad only really started to recede a bit at about 65 and then thin out a bit on top at 70 - so maybe I'm heading the same way. Mind you he was full grey by 55 and there's definitely a hirsute gene in the family because we're all fully rugged up front and back below the neck!! | | | |

Studies and surveys indicate that many women find bald men, particularly those who embrace it with a shaved head, attractive. Bald men are often perceived as more dominant, confident, and masculine. However, a shaved head is usually preferred over thinning hair.

One thing, start investing (especially with summer coming) in some good UV protection for your noggin. It’s amazing how much protection hair gives you from the sun, and you’ll need to replace what’s missing with a reasonably high factor - your head hasn’t had this exposure before. I’ve been bald for 15 years and had skin cancer removed 5 years ago. Lube up that newly bald bonce and invest in some hats.

Never looks back. Use a 5-blade razor and water and that's it.
