Let's be 100% honest If we deserve to go up then quite simply we need to the two games over Southampton and the two games over millwall. If southamton get 2nd then they deserve it as they've kept going when we all fked up.

As someone said earlier we can’t expect to finish 2nd by virtue of others finishing on about 80 points. We’re level with Southampton and 1 point behind Millwall but we’ve got 2 games in hand. If we can’t get more from 5 games than they get from 3 we don’t deserve it, it’s as simple as that.

Beat Boro and Charlton and I'll believe but right now it's hard to buy the idea we are overwhelming favourites for 2nd. Can't believe how it's changed so quickly since Nunez day. You're right about us doing our part but equally 3 hugely difficult aways in 6 games is a tough task of any team never mind one who are flaky on the road and at times mentally and physically suspect.

Yep exactly that Time for KM and the gang to wear the tag of league favourites with pride and show why as players they were purchased for considerable fees. Every single game now treat like the nodge Derby. If thats the mindset that helped then thats what we need.

Southampton just look to have it all easier. Middlesborough can bring themselves back in with a win. Millwall are already second. Grim times! Do we believe it will happen? If Delap was up front we might not doubt it. But thats where my doubt is. Bed wetters time isn't it!!!

I agree that 3 points tomorrow will massively change the picture and pile the pressure back on Wall and Saints. Game on.

If we do what needs to be done in the other games, Saints could beat us 10-0 and it wouldn't affect anything.

That just isn’t true is it? They could win all 3 including against us and finish on 84. That would mean we need 9 points from the other 4 games to match that, likely ending with a better GD. [Post edited 18 Apr 17:23]

After the Norwich game, we were all super confident Town were going to get it done & might even pip Coventry for the title. Now, one admittedly really poor performance at Pompey & we all think it's gone pear shaped. Win tomorrow & we will all feel very different.

If we win tomorrow I’d go as far as saying it’s the best position we’ll have been in all season. Boro would be done, we’ll be 2 ahead of Millwall with a miles better GD and still a game in hand, and we’ll be 3 above Southampton also with a better GD and a game in hand. Furthermore they’ve only got 3 games left to overturn it, which makes a hell of a difference vs 6, 7, 8 etc. Not much has changed today. Win tomorrow and we’re a big step closer to the finish line. Draw or lose and it’s squeaky bum time.

I think the big caveat is Southampton’s form is unstoppable. It wouldn’t be a ridiculous assumption to say they’ll beat Bristol and Preston. Therefore for us to stop that game being an overtake us situation we are going to need 7 points which is a tall order in 6 days with 2 away games. It was a huge goal, it makes their game against us much more likely to be a decider than it did on 88 minutes. Obviously there’s also an argument to say we’d quite possibly need 10 points anyway because Millwall may be right there but even then if Southampton had nothing to play vs us, it would have been an easier task to get 7 points in 4 games. Now I think we probably need 7 in the next 3. [Post edited 18 Apr 18:29]

I mean it would’ve been great if they didn’t win, but if we win tomorrow our GD will be at worst 6 better than theirs. I would be really surprised if 84 points isn’t enough to finish above Southampton, that would take something from here. So 2 wins from the final 4 if we win tomorrow would do that (notwithstanding that Millwall are still in contention). Certainly anything but 3 points tomorrow probably needs us going to St Mary’s needing some sort of result. Win tomorrow and we’ll do it.

The team that scored 5 against Wrexham and 3 past Blackburn, Bristol conceded 4 today at home…. I have us favs to get over the line if we win tomorrow but I wouldn’t be as confident as you on GD, by definition if they get max points and we get 84 there will be a swing and their other fixtures look very beachy. I fully expected them to win today, the fact they only did by 1 goal means if we win tomorrow we’re in a stronger position than we were this morning IMO. If you had offered me matching Millwall & Southampton points this weekend and (at worst) matching Saints GD I’d have taken it. It’s them running out of games if we do our bit, not us.

Yep 25% less of the season left for them and same points behind if we win. Just that they were a few minutes from basically being knocked out.
