Suffolk, will probably come in on the A2, but open to suggestions.

Last time I went, 8 - 10 years ago, I just drove to the ground and parked in one of quite a few factory units offering football parking, but that was quite a while ago, also remember ULEZ if it applies to your car.

If you're happy to walk a bit I'd suggest heading to Charlton Park (underrated park by the way) which is about 20 minutes walk to the ground. The roads around there especially on the southern side of the park are worth a look. I worked for Charlton a number of years ago and that was where the permit parking tended to stop.

One thing to be a bit mindful of (not to scare anyone, and I guess not much can be done to prevent it) is car crime. 1 friend of mine had is car nicked off his driveway in south London in the past 6 months and another the back window smashed in. Charlton's a nice enough area, hopefully no issues but anecdotally (and statistically) its been a problem in recent months.

Get yourself on 'yourparkingspace' website and find somewhere close to the ground.

I'm parked on someones drive around 15-20 min walk from the ground for about £11. by the time walked, hopefully any football traffic has started to clear.

Handily i am parked between the ground and the o2, so will get there early and walk to the o2 for some food / drink, then either bus it or uber it to the ground (can walk but its about 45-50 mins i think from o2 to the valley)

Yes, about 2 miles. There are very frequent buses from North Greenwich Station, stopping at the retail park, taking 10 mins or so to Charlton.

Free Parking on Canberra Road. Not in the permit zones. South of stadium about 20min walk.

Looking at Google Street View, most of the roads to the west of the stadium are 2 hours limit / residents only until 6.30pm, then there's no restrictions.

So in theory, it's free parking after 4.31pm.

Try somewhere the other side of Charlton Park near Cemetary Lane. Only about 20 mins walk from there and used by home fans regularly. Fairly easy back out to the A2 too.
