| Question for sports fitness people on 21:02 - Apr 23 with 412 views | TractorWood | Depends on fatigue already accumulated. There have been huge strides in recovery, nutrition etc but 2 days is tight. The intensity of the championship is incredible. I'm a relatively average runner and after big efforts (20+mile) I honestly have to take weeks off any intensity. I did the Yorkshire 3 peaks fell race in 23 and it probably took me 5 weeks to get it out of the legs. | |

But did you train every day with a professional team to aid that training …..big difference to your personal situation I would imagine .

They are just totally different things. My point is more around not underestimating fatigue. Hence why the Southampton semi is actually tremendously helpful for us imo. Ill be running 50/60 miles a week in a peak training week. These guys are probably jogging 10k during the week and do short bursts here and there. Most of their work will be rondos, situations and recovery work. Their fatigue is all match and basically none from training. [Post edited 23 Apr 22:57]

| Question for sports fitness people on 23:21 - Apr 23 with 220 views | Nutkins_Return | You get people who say just play best 11, they are professional athletes of course they can do it. Well they can. They could go out and play 90 minutes and finish a game. But they won't be at the same level as they would be with a week's rest. West Brom have had a week. So we have to get it right and balance best quality and physical condition. Really tricky one for McKenna this. Going Walton Furlong O'Shea Greaves Johnson Mcateer Nunez Clarke Hirst | |

West Brom played Tuesday. I know games are stacking up but that 'team fresher than the other one' doesn't always work like that. We went into that Wrexham away game with an eight day rest, while Wrexham played three days before and that didn't go well for us.
