Our statement on the Season ticket price rises

My own person view although not an ST holder is that the price increases are fair. Given what some clubs charge and the increase is whatever league we are in.
I remember going to PR some years ago and paying £41 for upper tier SBR stand.
What other forms of entertainment can you get for the amount ITFC are charging for an adult and I believe they have held the prices for those under a certain age.
Fans will be shouting from the rooftops that we should sign so and so before next season and whilst if still in this league they will cost several millions and if in the Prem multi millions and although we will either still have some parachute payments or a Premier League payment wages go up whether a player or a member of staff so the money has to come from somewhere. I do not think fans are hard done by.

We had most success without the resources. But then again that could change in a weeks time.

Without the resources this season we’d have struggled, we haven’t got the best from a lot of players.

We need the resources to compete at the top, but to use them SO much better and get value, or it isn’t happening, in that context we could have kept prices lower.

I don’t think 6000 waiting justify the supply and demand narrative, some big clubs have lifetime long waiting lists and don’t use it to leverage every penny.

It used to be a game for the working man to escape, and in a one club town, I think more than anywhere it needs to be inclusive for people from across socio economics - an accountant hugging a refuse collection expert on 96 minute winners is the WHOLE beauty of football, it spans divides, it CONNECTS.

Nobody wants football to be only for one socio economic group (except some owners).

We need to make the point.

To be fair, in the scheme of things, the amount of money needed for "success" on and off the pitch, the couple of million through season ticket increases is nothing at all, but to the individual in an increasingly stressful economic landscape it's a huge amount.

I am not being asked to pay a million. I am being asked to pay another £6 a month. As a friend said on FB, "I'll just pop one fewer packs of my husband's cider in the shopping basket each month".

We're still only about midtable Championship in season ticket price terms.

Yeah it's a very fair point. We've been spoilt by several price freezes in recent times, so a hike of this magnitude was always on the cards IMO.

The comparison with older season ticket prices seems a bit disingenuous (L1 compared to C or PL) especially when considered I paid the same price for my ticket in Lower SAR (£381) in 17/18 & 18/19 Championship seasons as I did in the Premier League last year. Next seasons price of £469 actually represents a 23% increase since 18/19. (Not sure how I got to pay £381 when Phil's article suggest it would have been £423 ?)

I don't know how many of you watch repeats of Only Fools. But I remember an episode where Dell got involved with a Bunny Boiler, so him, Rodney and Grandad all went to an Aunties or so they thought, after having a lovely meal inclusive of a delicious dessert " Auntie" said " Do you mind me asking, But Who Are You ?". As auntie had moved on somewhere else.

Taking a longer term view on this:

I last had a season ticket (SBR Upper) in 2010/11, my renewal cost for the 2011/12 season would have been £502 (due to various circumstances, I didn't renew).

Fast forward 15 seasons (yes, fifteen!) and the renewal cost for the same seats would be £551.

A £49 increase over 15 years doesn't seem so bad, particularly when you consider it's also Evans/Keane/Championship-mediocrity vs Gamechanger/McKenna/Prem-pushing...

Let's be honest, the fans have very little say on this normally, but at the moment you've got people lined up to take your season ticket.

The only stand you can take is not pay it and give your STs up which very few will do. So I think you've just got to suck it up.

Dont forget we used to have early bird renewals and the like back then.... it was much harder for the club to entice renewals when we were basically uncompetitive and there were thousands of empty seats. Ive been a season ticket holder sinc the late eighties but realise that this is not a necessity and i have a choice. Its still cheap compared to matchday prices so really its a question of whether i get value for price. Ive loved the ladt 4 years obviously but have always enjoyed going to football since 1973 through all the ups snd downs. Only towards the end of MMs reign did i question myself about continuing as it was not enjoyable snd i only went for yhe hour or so in yhe pub!. Current demand suggests they have it right in my opinion.

The club use X. A lot of left leaning posters use X. As do a lot of left leaning people in general. Even Oen Jones is a prolific poster on X. The biggest critic of Trump and his ilk bobards this site with X posts all day every day.

Not using X is not a stand against fascism. People proclaiming they don't use X is virtual signaling.

You believe that the American administration is fascist. Do you boycott all thongs from USA owned ITFC?

It's all look at me bollox as far as I'm concerned.

But you are missing the point. This group refuses to engage on X. They are excluding a large number of the fan base by doing so.

Other people's motivations for using X don't influence my decision not to use it. I don't like the way the platform does little to nothing to prevent people using it to abuse others, spread misinformation to the detriment of society, sexualise women, etc. So for those reason I won't use it. That's my choice. Other people can make their own choices, but ideally should at least acknowledge what they're propping up.

It's not virtue signaling from me. I don't use any social media except for this place, because it's moderated and people can be held accountable for their posts.

Besides, it's not owned by the US Administration and so of course I'm not boycotting everything US. Although that's not a bad idea, given the trouble they're causing ;)

I realise everyone is different and times are not great but I think our ST prices are very fair. For the price of my season ticket and having enteratinment for at least 19 afternoons I’d get to see 3 at a push 4 west end shows in London. There is not much you can do entertainment wise for 2 hours that comes out at under 30-50 per person.

Sure there is an increase and it’s not insignificant to many but our tickets were at a very low base and the last couple of seasons are just really bringing them in line of where people could probably have expected them to be, especially with demand as it is and the product on offer ie potentially 3 promotions in 4 seasons.

Some Match day ticket prices are quite high but I believe that are going to be frozen so you can’t really protest about that if that is the case.

It's not virtue signaling form me! This is the first time I've mentioned that I've left the platform on here. I didn't have a flouncy strop and leave. I shut my account and left quietly. I mentioned it to my close family, and have told no-one else.

I'd love for others to actually open their eyes and see what Musk has allowed X to turn into, but I'm not going to scream and shout for people to do so. It's a waste of time, too many just close their eyes, and ignore what is in front of them. I have more important things in life to worry about!

Just going to repeat the point I made above but it doesn’t exclude anyone as other options exist that require no signup or effort. Much the same way that saying please enter my restaurant through the door and not the chimney doesn’t exclude anyone. If you still insist on using the chimney then that’s on you.

Given the abuse and threats some twtd posters recently received on twitter (myself included) I think it perfectly reasonable that anyone should limit their use there for that very reason.

To label it virtue signalling is a tad wide of the mark imho given recent experiences of many on there.
