For me personally it’s whoever I’m speaking to including myself and in what form online or in person for example.
I have a feeling the choices are on whole but not exclusively.. EPL by people who live outside the UK.. generally North America or Australasia.. the prem young things I guess 30ish and under..
premier league by anyone outside the previous 2 examples … and premiership, by people who are a little confused still by the speed of change and name of many sports around the same time and feel it’s a safe thing to call it as it’s a a catch all.
I’d prefer 1st division even now and still use that term to people who know nothing about sport.

But to be clear majority of the time I use premier league
