Not too bad thanks. Our month long stay in Sri Lanka seems to have been the catalyst for trump's attack on Iran. That led to our return journey being Colombo-Kuala Lumpur-Oman-Heathrow-Elizabeth Line-Stansted Express.
Using UK time, we left our hotel at 22.00hrs on a Sunday, and sat down in Factual Towers at 22.30 on Tuesday.
I hated trump before that though. | |

Trump is easy to hate. I've been sailing around Asia for a while lately, and I've noticed a larger military presence.
Navies from Indonesia, Philippines, China, Japan, South Korea, and the USA, all in the area. Military aircraft patrolling at low altitudes especially in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait, and even arguments between Japanese and Chinese military about who was in whose territorial waters and airspace.
It's been a noticeable increase in military presence, and quite concerning too.
Usually I get to fly via Dubai, which I quite like as its flights with Emirates who have excellent service. But instead I had to slum it with BA and wooden cutlery, it was awful. | |

least you got home safe and well. trump led to my holiday in dubai in march been cancelled last minute. mind you just as covid broke out i was in darjeeling northern india was a nightmare but luckily got one of the last planes out with klm |  |

I had a disappointing time at Bury St Edmunds recycling centre, when they ended up with all the green waste containers shut at the same time because they were emptying the adjacent containers.
I observed that this was a bit of poor organisation, and pointed out I could just dump my bags of garden waste on the ground.
The operative said 'you can't do that sir'. I managed to stop myself from pointing out that I 'could', but he didn't want me to. I felt the semantic point would have been lost on him.

Our mistake was being lazy and flying Emirates from Stansted, rather than Air Sri Lanka from Gatwick.
And we were stuck in Dubai on the way out for 14 hours because of fog at Dubai airport. | |
