Seemed a clear penalty to me.

If it’s given it’s not overturned, if it’s not given again it’s not overturned. Subjective call by the ref.

...fouled him first and pulled him on top of him.

Seen it again - Madueke wraps his arm around Mendes' arm and they both fall over. If that happens up the other end there's no way McCoist etc. call that as a penalty.

Hmm. Aware my dislike of Arsenal may be biasing my view, but can't see really how it is. Both grappling and falling

Madueke was in front of him when the foul was made, not shoulder to shoulder. He was about to play the ball out of his feet.

TWTD CP. Evans Out.
Poll: Neil Young or Lynyrd Skynyrd - there is no middle ground.

In real time, I thought it was a penalty. And there was nothing in the replays to change my mind.

I can understand why it didn't go to VAR, yes.

It's tight, but Madueke got there first and was in control of the ball before Mendes took him out.

Not for me. He pulled the PSG player onto him to look for the pen. If he hadn’t have done that, then I’d say a pen. You’ve seen them given but it’s not a clear and obvious error that VAR should overrule (imo)

Agreed, never a foul. Totally and utterly manufactured by Madueke.

I like McCoist generally but thought the same - absolutely no way he's adamant it's a pen if the tangle was between Barcola and Timber.

Gyokeres is looking as good as Conor Sammon. Really poor so far and I thought he was supposed to be good.

Ref should just blow up for pens now. Extra time has been a complete waste of time.

Not sure how I knew, but had a gut feeling Eze would miss.
Well done Raya though.

Shocking penalty. Let’s hope he’s not allowed anywhere near them at the WC!

And another one. Their stupid run ups are their own downfall. Lol.

It’s hard to argue with the result. I think you have to be a bit more positive if you want to win a tournament like this. PSG are definitely the better team even if Arsenal did very well to nullify them tonight. That’s probably the best attempt to blunt this PSG team I’ve seen, but that isn’t enough.

Watching in a bar in Mallorca, arsenal scored and I was only one who celebrated

Should've gone to Benidorm.

looked unbalanced when he hit it. Some guys like Lewandoski have got it down to a fine art. But not Eze clearly.

PSG were the better side by a distance. Arsenal got what they deserved in the end. The last penalty taker didn’t look confident to say the least.

It rather amused me that when smaller, poorer sides play like that in the Premier League or any other division come to that, they get an earful for it. Boring and negative.

Arsenal play that way? Brave defence, plan brilliantly executed etc.

Can't understand why it isn't outlawed, a penalty's enough of an advantage to the taker without all that distracting nonsense. Or at least why managers don't forbid players from doing it, because it's so ridiculous when they miss. Funny seeing it happen to Arsenal...less so when it's England.
