you seem to have an issue with "people deferring to a biological construct" and you waffle on about 2 billion years and plants and fungi. you seem to be intent upon denying the relevance of biological human sex as a category today. given that women have rights and protections which are defined on the basis of that very "biological construct" your dismissal of it doesn't seem supportive of women's rights and legal protections. but I'll leave you and your high horse to enjoy the ride. what you have posted is nonsense and moderately hysterical. trans people are protected in law - as they should be - and discrimination, harassment and abuse is quite properly illegal. they have the same rights and protections as other groups in society. they don't have greater rights, and they don't get to negate the rights of others.
trans people are not being denied their existence, they are not being mandated out of public spaces, they can access healthcare like everyone else. i don't doubt that there is genuine unpleasantness on twitter or that trans people are a particularly vulnerable group, but your attempts to insinuate that it's the result of uk law or policy is an intentional lie. sadly, as with many groups, social media fosters hate and intolerance, but your accusations are unfocused and are basically aimed at everyone who doesn't share your views. the equality act and sexed based rights are real and robust - i suspect that is what offends you more than anything (which is, alas, an incredibly regressive position). | |

Underlying the pursuit of "sex based rights" is a gleeful insistence on misgendering trans people and upholding biological sex as the predominant reasoning for discrimination, rather than gender expression. You always seem to skirt this point though, mainly because I believe that's when you start to lose normal, empathetic people.
Best practice treatment for trans people has always been gender affirming care. You pretend you don't understand what I mean regarding healthcare, because you are not acting in good faith, but I clearly mean trans specific healthcare such as hormones. NHS waiting lists for first appointments are now in excess of five years, and continue to grow due to pressure on the NHS not to fund this service.
My accusations are entirely focused, as I recognise your talking points. If you don't want to be associated with the worst of the TERF movement then I would recommend not defending everything they stand for in here, especially derailing the pride month thread, of all things. | |

there is no evidence base to support 'gender affirming" health care, and very definitely not in the case of children. that is just an un-evidenced assertion. medical experimenting on children is indefensible.
