Whether they gained a sporting advantage or not is neither here nor there. They were attempting to, and that's cheating.

I am not sure how people have missed I was being completely sarcastic with that post.

Of course its cheating, of course they gain an advantage, that's why they did it and also why it's against the rules.

God, just went on X and they really are still playing the victim card. Tonda isn't to blame appearently and it's all Boro's fault.

They really are nauseating

I re-watched the Saints v Town game. At the point they had their free kick which led to the goal, their goalie came over and showed them where to place the ball. In the interview after he made a joke of it saying that it's not uncommon. Now the cynic in me wonders whether that info was fed following spying as we practice free kicks in training. We will never know whether (on all three games) spying affected the results.

So to say it did not affect the outcome is potentially crap

God I hate them

Very naughty from Eastleigh. Suspect we won’t train there again, I wonder if we paid them to use their facilities?

I suspect that is bull - were their staff not in Eastleigh tracksuits? They are trying to get themselves out of the brown stuff but this reacts of lies

Read back your post again, there's nothing obviously sarcastic about it. You meaning what you wrote wouldn't be that weird compared to some of the views on here!

Sitters picked up on it quick enough.

KM very rarely keeps the same XI between weekends and weekday games and it's well known. So TE may have wanted some 'additional' help to get a clue. In the report it says something about TE never changed his side against Ipswich based on the info gained, well we only have has word on that and he hasn't lied before has he? <sarcasm again> I mean if we had started Clarke instead of Jaden could he have changed players/tactics? Maybe he thought we may rest Azor given the injury he was carrying and they could see that by watching our games back as part of analysis.

Whether you got it or not I was being sarcastic as sick of Southampton as a club and some very vocal fans not taking responsibility and trying to make out they are victims. They don't seem to care about the fans of clubs they have possibly cheated out of a play-off place, just that they as fans don't deserve it.

I hope the club implodes before next season and they have a weak squad and start to head south in the leagues. They deserve it.

I actually think it affected us and Oxford more than boro, as by then it was out in the open. If anything it helped boro who were so wound up by it in the first game that they should have been at least three up by half time.

Perhaps it's just me, but their argument that they derived no sporting benefit from cheating simply doesn't hold any weight.

They got a point against us.

There's no way of quantifying the benefit they derived, but they did get a point.

If that had been the difference between us going up and, say Millwall, can you imagine the absolute carnage that we would rain down on Saints, the EFL, the FA etc?

And if we had those two extra points at that game it may have affected the final standings

I visited their forum a few times whilst this unfolded. It’s car crash TV - as you say, so many on that forum are using anything to justify what the club did, and how they are hard done by. There’s the odd voice of sanity, but very few.

It’s also now 247 pages with 1.2 million views in 3 weeks!!!

Not surprising really, some on here are still quite happy about Ashton gaslighting fans and club staff about Farage. Club first, morality second.

I didn't really take in the second part of his post, I was responding to the first part: "But it's not cheating, they gained no sporting advantage knowing what was very likely to be our starting XI." This is something I've seen (or similar) posted by ITFC fans as well as Saints, without any sarcasm, so I think I can be forgiven for thinking this was more of the same? If you just read (or took in) that sentence, there's nothing obviously sarcastic about it.

Maybe I've read too much of Saints fans doubling down.
