"With promotion this time around worth a minimum of £240 million" 19:22 - Jun 3 with 1541 viewswkj

Genuinely interested to know how this figure is broken down as I thought promotion was worth around half this. That said, the financials of football disgusts me and I usually shy away from diving into it.

This figure includes 2 years of potential parachute payments, in the worse case scenario of getting relegated and not bouncing straight back.

It's not all in a single season.

It's about £120M for the season from TV rights, and then on top of that will include guaranteed parachute payments post relegation, which adds another £80-£100M over following 2-3 years if not promoted back - remaining £20M-£30M is increased sponsorhsip and other increased revenue streams.

We lose the £40m 2026-27 parachute money though due to promotion, so perhaps closer to £200m. But if course costs are far higher at Premier League level with sky high wages, transfer fees and agent fees.

As Alan Sugar put it, many years ago, the money flows through to the players and agents, "the prune juice economics of football".

We are unusual in having people in charge who are also investing in the stadium, training ground, Foundation, Academy and - last but no means least - ITFC Women.
