I love Roxy Music but Bryan Ferry didn't half pull some funny facial expressions and body shapes.

To be fair, at 1m34s in this...

... I think he just got his sphincter a touch too close to the flame.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

Lacks the vulnerability of Lennon’s original which was actually aimed at Paul McCartney.

Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Paul Gambaccini shows lately, He has loads of stories of Lennon and McCartney sniping at each other through their songs.

He’s definitely worth a listen

I’ll listen out for that. Cheers.

There is a great book by Ian Leslie called ā€œJohn & Paul: A Love Story in Songsā€. Well worth reading.

I prefer this to the original.

Bowie’s sax and production lifts the song above his own version which sounds like a demo in comparison.

'Leonard Cohen expressed deep admiration for Jeff Buckley's haunting 1994 cover of 'Hallelujah'. He famously remarked on the sheer beauty of Buckley's rendition, going so far as to describe it as an embodiment of exactly what the song was intended to be.'
