It has always seemed strange that he never made it at Old Trafford?
Especially with Alex Ferguson still having an influence on the club. Something does not add up as he is a Scotsman too. Why would he not have been given preferential treatment? Why was he never fancied or backed?

He played a lot of football for United and was never overly impressive for them. Not all his fault a lot of it was just the way United was as a club at the time he was there, it was messy, they could never quite get the midfield balance right and he moved on.
He has obviously kicked on at Napoli and been incredible for them and that's a great example of how important environment is for a player. |  |

He's been excellent for them and is a hero there. Would likely take north of £50m from a CL club to get him and even then he might not want to leave as he apparently loves it there.

He was one of the victims of the financial fair play rules. As a home grown player he represented pure profit, as did Rashford for example, that’s why they wanted rid of them, simple rebalancing of the books. |  | | |

That front four begining to take shape nicely.
Would be great if we could get Pele in to spearhead things in the 9 but I’m not 100% convinced he’d move. Worth a shot though. Why not. |  | | |

They need to be young and unproven, or in a league abroad where they are more unknown outside that environment.
It’s why the data aggregation is SO important.
