It will be nice if the BBC do offer 4k iPlayer video for the World Cup, but will make their decision to stick with stereo (2.0) audio look even stupider - almost everywhere else offers Dolby Digital (5.1) as a minimum on most devices.

I find it sad that the BBC aren’t the technology pioneer they used to be. I remember the groundbreaking development and introduction of NICAM in the early 90s, and the Wimbledon HD trials in the mid-noughties.

Once a leader in broadcast technology, now a slow follower.
