His bond with Russell was something to behold as well. I wonder how many friendships endure 50 years with that strength.

| Butcher Invisible Wounds on 11:16 - Jun 10 with 334 views | WeWereZombies | Watched it last night and, whilst I am not going to say 'wow' about it, it left me thinking for a couple of hours. I think it could have been a four parter with each episode three quarters of an hour to cover the ground that it tried to do. I rarely watch ITV, I only have their player for the live football, but the less judgemental approach reminded me of the shortcomings I used to find with the Beeb back in the Sixties and Seventies when I watched ITV as much if not more ('World In Action' and the John Pilger documentaries probably did as much to shape my political view as two years of a Masters Degree reading political philosophy.) Stuart Burley did a very good job | |

It had to be timed in accordance with ITV requirements. There was a lot more filmed than shown last night with a view of much as you have suggested, 4 parts. Finding your troubled son dead on the bedroom floor takes some getting back from as a family... I cried as much as I laughed at the Butch stories.

| Butcher Invisible Wounds on 11:51 - Jun 10 with 236 views | didsburyblue | The itvX version is the cinema (feature length) release and is 10-15 minutes longer than the version screened on itv4 last night. Would suggest watching this version rather than a recorded version of the itv4 showing. The longer version has a lot more context in it + also more Ipswich footage. As an example, a very interesting anecdote regarding a conversation between Terry's Dad and Bobby Ferguson from Terry's early career was cut from the edit last night but is in the itvX version. | | | |
