An incredible human being, and incredible young manager, and whatever he decides to do he should do so with the very best wishes. Completely changed the fortunes and future of this football club, from League 1 to Premier League. We will forever have an unbreakable bond. |
Careful, you'll be accused of being 'mawkish' in a minute.

I think given what we know about him from his time here, what an honest and good man he is, I think we all need to take him on his word and appreciate that this was an incredibly tough decision for him, and for whatever the reason might be, he obviously doesn't feel he can commit the energy he feels he has to go on managing at the level he expects of himself. As a now middle aged guy who didn't get to properly experience Burley, the last few years under him have really been magical. I'm devastated he's leaving Whoever comes next has big shoes to fill.

I was thinking this on the drive into work this morning. We get established hopefully with whoever, McKenna gets a job else where and does well, then if timings coincide McKenna returns to take us to Champions League or something. Would be great. At the same time tho, if that goes south it sort of taints his memory. Never go back maybe.
