Well he did get Boro going and he did well at Luton. As for taking wolves down. Not entirely his fault But like Kieran would have learned a lot from the experience Knows how to use Ogbene too

Would be lazy and simple of ashton, showing up how limited his "DASHBOARD" is. Edwards could end up doing amazing but its limited on paper, which then worries me about out recruitment of players has the same lack of depth and knowledge of the football world.

Bristol, WBA, Watford, Oxford is the experience hmmm, when have they had the money wr have at our disposal in 2026. Young British managers where I can keep a lot of the control might be the model. Ok the last one we struck gold but that’s the problem for me, until we get in someone with proper international connections like a director of football, we will be going through recycled UK names. Maybe the new Americas scout had got a mate he can phone! I’ll support anyone we get in, but as a PL club we should be aiming high and exhausting every avenue.

Earned more points in 30 PL games with a Wolves team who were completely bereft of confidence that KM did in 38 games in 24-25. He’s a good manager, but he would be following KM.

Don't forget Wycombe, although Ashton keeps doing so.

I fear you may be on to something with that first paragraph. With the exception of Nigel Pearson at Bristol, all of Ashton's appointments have been maiden managerial jobs. Perfect if you want someone wet behind the ears, who might not necessarily push back as much as would a seasoned pro. This appointment is going to be incredibly telling.

| Welcome Rob Edwards… on 08:58 - Jun 11 with 1117 views | TheGentlemanViking | Slightly baffling decision from Wolves, especially as Trippier and Andre were both speaking about how key he was in their decision to sign deals. Wolves fans seemed to be on his side too, appreciating that there was only so much he could do and that they were pretty much doomed from the start. While I'd be underwhelmed to see Edwards at PR, I'd definitely be placing him ahead of O' Neil and Rosenior. [Post edited 11 Jun 8:59]

One doesn't "do amazing."

| Welcome Rob Edwards… on 09:45 - Jun 11 with 634 views | usm | Strange timing. Maybe we've tapped him up. Wouldn't be averse to this appointment - we are unlikely to attract a Pochettino or Amorim type unfortunately and Edwards does have Prem experience. Gary O'Neil too or Rosenior for that matter - all decent options. Dyche may keep us up - and that could be attractive to the owners, if not the fans. | |
