(n/t) on 09:23 - Jun 11 by GlasgowBlue | And the Leicester, Leeds, Ipswich, Southampton, West Brom and Norwich teams who made up the top six all had far more depth than just a few stand out names in the starting eleven. Other than us, three of the top six were Premier league teams the previous season and the other two were in the final year of their parachute payments. [Post edited 11 Jun 9:26]

The point being I'm not sure Rosenior punched above his weight or anything at Hull. He did a decent enough job, football was a bit dull at times. Wasn't anything special though. Starsbourg was decent but Gary O'Neil done decent there as well. Chelsea was a complete and utter disaster. If that's the CV that gets you our job I would be a bit concerened.

Does he? He underwhelmed at Hull with a strong squad, he did OK in Europe for a short period and did poorly at Chelsea. OGS had several successes in Europe and got Man Utd 3rd. Not sure how Rosenior has a better record.

I’m not pushing for his appointment. But at the same time, I think the narrative that he failed at Hull is false. As I said yesterday, whoever we get in has to be for the long term, with one eye on the possibility that we may well be playing in the Championship in 2027/28. Of course the aim is ti stay up, but the likelihood we won’t. I don’t want a quick fix only to sack whoever fails to keep us up and go through all of this again next summer. [Post edited 11 Jun 9:46]

Neither do I. My preference would be to take a calculated risk on a younger manager/coach and hope you hit on someone who could be special. Bold decision, yes but I think sometimes that has to be the way. I would also like to see some guys doing big things in European football in the mix. Miguel Molina would be my preference. Big risk but I like his background and has top flight experience albeit not as a number 1.

I think it will still be spelt Champions League in 27/28.

The alternative, and most likely is that MA will be looking for an Assistant at a top clup (as he did with KM) Either way, shouldn't take long as we know he keeps an ongoing log of potential managers (well at least he says he does - but who knows given the ease with which is lies!)
