Easy to combine the job with those of Chairman and CEO.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

In all seriousness, it was pointed out that O'Leary needed replacing when he left. Some said it wasn't a good time to replace Ashton after Faragegate. Now we are in a position where Ashton has no apparent checks or balances and is the only stable factor at the top of the club.

Yes, Ashton has done a good job whilst working with O'Leary and McKenna but I worry that he isn't fit for the power and responsibility he now has. I would worry if that was someone who had never made the number of major faux pas Ashton has.

You are of course, totally correct - I'm rather concerned about this upcoming appointment. It would be great if the club could communicate that we're not just at the behest of modest Mark, would help settle my nerves...

How can they communicate that?

They never replaced O'Leary which was an insult to him frankly. It makes out that he did nothing of any importance. They never made any suggestion that Ashton was held accountable for his actions over Farage. There is no clear oversight for him.

Now we are appointing a manager with just Ashton in control of the process. Even if Gamechanger get involved, none of them has the direct knowledge and experience of UK football needed. Hopefully they will be insisting on some expertise working with Ashton.

I'd assume just a little something about how they've gone about creating their shortlist of managers, etc- think similar to the stuff with Muric, when they announced they were working with that company to identify a new goalkeeper? (that went well, lol)

But in reality, I know of course they won't communicate anything.
I do have concerns, like you - I hadn't vocalised them on here, as those who are aware of my posts, know I'm ASHTON OUT and as such, thought any concern would be easily dismissed.

I think Ashton to take on the manager's role for a year makes sense, probably be relegated whoever has the job so might as well save money and have a Chairman/CEO/Manager then KM can return next year and go for 4in6. They like open top bus rides to Christchurch Park.

Never forget that on 7th. April 2021, for ITFC, the Game Changed.

we have ashton as ceo and chairman, no director of football, technical director etc etc, it makes us look a bit tinpot.

we're light years behind the better run prem clubs. reckon mckenna's next job will be a club with a far better structure, which will mean he can concentrate on the coaching, which is the bit he excels at and enjoys most
