I sometimes think we judge people in football with a really low bar.
Its nice that KM did that, but I would expect any decent person to do it. I suspect most of our managers (good or bad) would have done that. |  |

I presume you've seen that Rob Edwards found out that he'd lost his job over social media?
Whilst that is an isolated incident I think that speaks to the transactional nature with which managers are treated by the senior leadership teams at football clubs these days.
Wether you like or dislike Ashton, it's pretty clear they had a bond that extended past Football and that's suited us very well. Had it not been the case, we would have probably been looking for a manager 2 years ago! | | | |

If the decision was made two weeks ago, what possible incentive does the club have to keep it quiet? It doesn't help recruitment, it doesn't help planning for the season, it isn't beneficial for Ashton and co. They'd want candidates applying.
Equally, in the world of social media and agents that news is not kept quiet for multiple weeks.

The benefits i guess of not announcing immediately is the circus that comes with it so the club could begin the process without the noise. | |
