| Gut feeling it will be Ole.... on 17:30 - Jun 11 with 1656 views | LeightonBuzzardBlue | He'd be a coup for us imo. Would defo be a good name to attract players. He excites me much more than most of the names floating about atm | | | |

| Gut feeling it will be Ole.... on 17:50 - Jun 11 with 1464 views | phillymark | Of the names I know, I think he would be my favorite, along with Frank. There are tons of young foreign managers that many people on this site have more knowledge that I who I am sure would be excellent options too. But Ole would be exciting | | | |
| Gut feeling it will be Ole.... on 17:51 - Jun 11 with 1452 views | LA_Tractor_Boy | Of all the names bandied about, OGS is who I would like to see appointed. Has PL experience, plays attacking football and will be able to attract players. But just as importantly, he has the right personality for an ITFC manager. Someone like Dyche just wouldn't fit IMO. | | | |
| Gut feeling it will be Ole.... on 17:53 - Jun 11 with 1421 views | SouperJim | Would be very happy with Solskjaer and I think he's the one name that relatively few fans would be critical of, so I really hope he's who we end up with. I also think Rosenior would be a good appointment, but I know his dreadful performance at Chelsea will have put a lot of fans off. I'm not quite so sure about O'Neil, his record doesn't seem as good, so a bit puzzled as to why it seems like he's the early frontrunner. | |

Nice guy and personable, but not for me. Neither a young gun with something to prove or a nuggety, firefighter.

Whatever my thoughts on Ole, he is only an option if he’s guaranteed a significant transfer kitty. He wouldn’t compromise like some of the other names being thrown around. Therefore, if it is him, I’d believe we mean business at least.

Did Pert and Ole work together at Man Utd?

AI says yes…. Martyn Pert and Ole Gunnar Solskjær formed a key partnership as part of the coaching staff at Manchester United.

They did, for over 130 games. Getting the old band back together. OGS also worked with Pert at Cardiff.

If we could make sure we keep a lot of the background staff and Pert it would be fantastic. It's been the bedrock of Brentford success for example keeping some continuity and is why the club is so much better equipped to cope now. Of course normally and manager will have a close core ground that normally go with. Losing Pert would be damaging for McKenna though. They seem close. Id like to see Ole come in quite obviously. Underated manager who brought great success to Molde who had never won a title before. Did a really good job with United (when you look at the context of them before and after him). Ole is also an attraction in terms of names and style for players. Well connected at United and in the Norwegian game where we know there is talent. It would be a yes from me amongst 3-4 others.

Could be a good mentor for Sindre too.
| Gut feeling it will be Ole.... on 18:30 - Jun 11 with 973 views | ketton_itfc | I think so too. Experienced manager(has a pretty good record didn't appreciate that), has followed the club over the last few years through his friendship with Mckenna and thinks highly of Pert. Makes sense on lots of levels. I'm all for it. | | | |

What if..... Ole comes in, Kieran stays (lives) in Ipswich for a year (kids stay at school), waiting for Celtic job and he helps Ole, maybe not front facing, but acts as another pair of eyes / ears. Kieran has plenty of time to house hunt for Celtic job, watch Celtic games, get up to speed on Scottish football etc... spends 2 years at Celtic then comes back to us...... [Post edited 11 Jun 18:54]

| Gut feeling it will be Ole.... on 18:52 - Jun 11 with 748 views | Vaughan8 | I've said it on other threads, I don't think he's a manager for a relegation battle. Apart from Cardiff, where he ultimately got the relegated, he's been at the other end of the table. He's not young anymore so doesn't fit that bill. He plays attacking football which I know people won't like, but we can't do that. Do we want to keep al the staff? Isn't this a perfect time to start afresh. Not for me. Plenty of people seems OK with him, i'm in the minority, but not for me. | | | |
| Gut feeling it will be Ole.... on 18:56 - Jun 11 with 698 views | ottovonbismark | It will be O' Neill - Ashton knows he can control him. | | | |
| Gut feeling it will be Ole.... on 18:58 - Jun 11 with 664 views | hadleighboyblue | Either Ole or Frank would be good appointments with the right experience , but another young coach could also be interesting .......but most of the other names being mentioned are underwhelming . I'm hopeful that McKenna might have had some input into the decision | | | |

Agree with this, he seems like he could manage personalities at bigger clubs quite well but not sure he's in any way a tactical genius or able to develop players in the same way McKenna has been able to.
