I don't think KM will take another job 10:26 - Jun 12 with 3675 viewsRIPbobby

The prospect of Kieran McKenna accepting another demanding managerial position remains highly questionable, particularly when evaluating the alternative avenues available to him.

From a strategic standpoint, transitioning into high-profile sports media presents a compelling case. Having commanded a salary of approximately £5 million per year over the last two seasons, financial necessity is no longer a driving factor. Moving into the studio would allow him to maintain a vital connection to football entirely free from the acute stress of elite management. Given his tactical genius, he would offer audiences a level of insight that few contemporary pundits can match, exchanging the relentless pressure of the touchline for a highly lucrative and comfortable media career.

Concurrently, questions must be raised regarding the internal dynamics between McKenna and Chief Executive Mark Ashton. It is entirely plausible that friction developed regarding recruitment strategy, specifically whether players were secured who did not align with the manager's tactical vision. Whilst Ashton's achievements in transforming the infrastructure and commercial standing of the club are indisputably remarkable, his public persona occasionally verges on the self-aggrandising. Such a clash of personalities and philosophies may well have precipitated a breakdown in their professional relationship. But I offer no inside information so that analysis is pure speculation.

With apologies to Sir Edward Elgar -

Posts of Mope and Boring,
Brothers of the p
How shall we bog-roll thee
Who are bored of thee.

Weirder still and weirder
Shall thy minds be set
Bods who made thee tripe-y
Make thee brighter yet.

Or perhaps he dislikes Ashton's politics too! Unlike us, he can (did) leave.

We don’t actually know for sure what Ashton’s politics are. Perhaps McKenna likes Reform, donates and all that and is disappointed MA didn’t ask him in for a Bath Oliver.

Perhaps he left because he was tired of the endless negativity and moaning here and social media and knew that a goal or a defeat the dismal witless brigade would be out in force again.

Perhaps he left because after 4.5 years of achievement he was worn out, needed a bit of time and a new challenge. In other words, shock horror, he was telling it as it is.

As a guess, I reckon he will be in a new job sooner rather than later. Football is a drug to some and he seems on the face of it no different.

I could even see him going back into pure coaching at say Man U for Carrick. But I’ve no idea and quite frankly, couldn’t care a less. He’s moved on and so should we.

I expect he will, I doubt that his nature will be to shut himself away from football for too long, and he will keep his finger on the pulse of what's going on. With the club's 12 month compensation clause mentioned elsewhere, I wonder if the stars are aligned for him to take over from O'Neill at Celtic after his 12 month contract. There would be worse ways to get back into the game, prove himself a winner there and after a spell take a crack at a high profile English or European club perhaps. Then come back to us again to oversee our third champions league campaign.

Why on god's earth would any youngish rising star of a manager hole himself away in the bagpipe bubble?

If he's looking for a step up to managing Manure, then managing a settled but routinely low to middling side in the EPL would be the most likely route.

Bit harsh Ry, Celtic potentially gives a manager a chance to see what they can do in the champions league and gain trophies/winning mentality at an undeniably huge club. I know it's not premiership level, but I think it would be potentially a good way back after a year or so out. Plus with his roots I would be very surprised if Celtic weren't one of his childhood clubs.
Just my opinion on what might happen, although I understand from previous debates on this site that it's a matter of opinion as to whether someone's opinion is actually an opinion, but that's my opinion.
