Everyone is being released, and the new manager will be starting with a clean slate.

You do appreciate that there's a club-wide deadline? It was Wednesday for Prem clubs and May 16th for EFL (not sure which applies to us)

I was under the impression there is a deadline for the retained list to be put forward, regardless of the clubs managerial status. Is that not the case?

Retained List had to be provided to the EFL by Sat 16th May and players informed.

ITFC don't have to publish this retained list, but the EFL will publish it for all clubs tomorrow (13th June) anyway.

I think us and Soton are the only EFL clubs that haven't published their lists. No idea why we don't do it in May like most other clubs.

Just because it’s not public knowledge doesn’t mean it’s not been sorted.

I don’t think there’s going to be any surprises anyway.

Burns is the main situation.

The Burns situation is the reason I was asking. I'd rather the band aid was ripped off, rather than the McKenna news, then another week or so to find out Burns is off too! McKenna, Chappers and Burns all within a month or so is a killer blow to "that team". Truly the end of an era!

As mentioned it’s only going to say ‘in discussions with’ if it’s not been sorted before it has to be public.

I suspect your expectations are too high. It’s normal for a retained list to have a number listed as ‘contract negotiations on-going’.

Even if we release Burns there is the option to re sign him at a later date if the new manager wants to and he hasn’t signed elsewhere

Pretty sure if he's not signed, it'll be because he has a better offer elsewhere, so I doubt there is any chance of that happening.

Pretty sure if he's not signed, it'll be because he has a better offer elsewhere, so I doubt there is any chance of that happening.


Transfer window opens on Monday, so in theory if he has agreed a deal elsewhere then it could be another club announcing it (I think Swansea essentially announced Burgess had rejected our offer last summer)
