$982 cheapest ticket on StubHub… 00:32 - Jun 13 with 900 viewsunstableblue

… for Scotland Haiti

$750 for their Morocco game

Both in ‘Boston’

Cheapest for England v Ghana $762

All these seats are up in the Gods

To be honest thought they might be more.

The tickets prices for the Nicks game the other night were insane.

I saw a reel on social media about the nicks game. Some people said they'd paid £25k for a ticket. That's insane!

Americans must be the biggest mugs going. I guess Fifa thought they could do it with football.....

Yeah think I saw that reel.. insane prices for a basketball game

Cheapest current ticket for England potential semi final is $2800 in Atlanta

These are of course all on the resale market, with some of the hassle/risks that carries.. although StubHub normally pretty good

Those semi final prices are again in the gods.. you’re talking $11,750 in the good seats

If England progress these will go up

I wonder what the original ticket buyers paid - and surely the England travelling club should have got 10k at a decent price.

Got quoted £745 for the Ghana game. That's nearly twice the price of my season ticket at PR

On the fifa ticket site this morning I could have had a front row seat in the corner for the England v Ghana match for about £900 .
Has anybody checked ticket prices say 1hour or minutes before kick off for matches so far ?
Have they dropped like a stone or rocketed ?

World Cup football will be on subscription TV if the Americans had their way and charge us £50 to view. The price of the Scotland v Haiti game is insane. Wasn't there a film from the USA called "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World"

Poll: Should there be a min football stadium capacity for each League. eg Cham 20K

Back in June 1994, I was attending a conference in Orlando and took time off to wander down to the stadium where Morocco were playing Netherlands. I was surprised to find that there was a glut of tickets available with the touts almost giving them away. I think I paid $2 for mine. The match was played in extreme heat in an uncovered stadium and was rather dull, but at least I can say I attended a World Cup game.

18% of Americans make 6 figures compared to 3% of Brits that make GBP68-70k

800,000 make over $1M annually completed to 30 thousand in the UK.

Sports has catered to the to this top 20%, many of whom go to a couple games a year. Think of the World Cup more as a big concert than tournament to go to every game and you’re closer to the mark.

As an example NFL has 8-9 home games a year. The country is so big no one really follows their team home and away. So there is a reason for the American market being completely different.

Not defending this pricing at all but just trying to shed some light on why FIFA have thought they can get away with it and saw this opportunity. The big games and home nations pricing will hold but let’s see when it comes to some small counties playing in 70,000 seater venues.

Being able to afford it is one thing but not sure someone in San Francisco is going to be interested in dropping $500 for Algeria or Austria game compared to watching the Niners in a few months.

Pretty sure a lot of the hospitality tickets which were $1200 in the Euros but $4000 per game in the World Cup completely are unsold for many games.

When it gets to knockouts I think these tickets will actually go up, from late June sports is low season in the US with no NFL and hockey and basketball wrapping up. By the looks of last night the hosts will keep the interest going.
