Obvs in the absence of definite plans hard to guess but for comparison, Palace’s new main stand said to be costing 200million. Even allowing for some “we’re in fking London aren’t we” premium that’s a massive outlay. Wrexham’s smaller Kop stand is costing 70milion.

Palace's has more than doubled since plans were released. In a large part yes that's to do with complications and logistics of building in a compressed London site, but mainly due to the cost of steel (and other materials) and I expect the Iran war as that's messed everything up.
The construction sector is heading to a reckoning (a project I have worked on the last few months opens in 2 weeks but was delayed as the contractor went bust, and I feel that as the canary in the coalmine they are one of many to follow soon).
Ipswich may be a similar approach to Palace, but I would not expect the board to consider anything like that expense (and it's not 100% Palace are going ahead at that cost I gather).
I would imagine they may want to spend that kind of amount as an absolute total on all ground improvements (both stands, fan park and f&b offers, general improvements, wedding it to the Borough Council development, landscaping, safe standing etc) over several years. |  |

Given general economic pressures and our own uncertain playing status, makes you wonder if the work will ever get done. Although of course the longer we put it off the higher the costs go. Adding a temporary extra tier on top of the west stand won’t be cheap either as well as a logistical challenge. | |
