I thought the same. Also could have sworn I heard a whistle blow as the header was flicked on…..though I do hear some strange things at times.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

I suspect it looked worse that it as because his arm was out infront of him. I thought we’d get a check / longer check (I’m not sure if it was checked - if it was the PL they’d still be checking it now).

edited i jumped the gun there, arms don't count i guess as the defender's boot is level with the strikers shoulder, so it is onside.

I did too. I thought the ref had blown and our defense had stopped. It confused the hell out of me when the goal was given 🤣.

It’s a typical screeching US crowd though, so probably just a high pitched scream.

No qualms about the offside as I think goals like that should be given. But I also was sure I heard a whistle before just before the goal was scored.

Think the automated system to give a VAR check only works if it’s more than 6cms or something… so that’s why there was no check

Arms don’t count as being offside as you can’t score with an arm. Thats a pretty well known law.

Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

We've already had a penalty retake where a keeper is a couple of inches of his line and there is a bit of encroachment (i could find countless penalties that have not been retaken for that) so we can't really complain.
