I'm not overly excited or enthused by him if he does become our manager, however, taking a step back, he has more experience in our current situation than OGS.
We can't gamble on a rookie, too much riding on it, fine mid table in League One with huge resources, but not when we're about to embark on a tough PL season.
There aren't many other candidates that are a) available b) achievable or c) float my boat.

13th. Similar position in terms of relative strength and squad depth, they sold Matheus Nunes, Neves, Collins and others from under him. O'Neil signed Cunha and did a very good job to finish 14th under the circumstances. |  |

From me. I made a loose comparison in terms of keeping a wolves side who had lost several important players and were tipped amongst the relegation candidates, in the division, finishing a credible 14th. | |

Similar. Not identical, no. Both are reasonable comparisons, broadly speaking about clubs similar in size, stature, squad depth etc. These are the spells Ashton and co will be looking at and thinking he could do a similar job here. Not quite sure why you're splitting hairs quite so much. The comparisons are fair and pretty obvious. | |

If you look at what we need to achieve next season GON is about as well qualified as anyone available. You could include Dyche but GON will play a better style than him.
He did have that meltdown at Wolves however I think many managers would have done the same when dealing with that ownership and those players. |  | | |

To be fair i've spoken to my contacts in Bournemouth and they really liked GON
The only downside they mentioned was that he struggled to set them up to defend set pieces
