Underwhelming.

But a better record keeping teams up than OGS who was out of his depth in a relegation battle.

Accept the outcome or your demons will spoil the season , we might be surprised ?

Genuinely happy with that appointment, and hope we get the version of O’Neill from Bournemouth and his first stint at Wolves in the Prem.

Don’t need to be excited by it, just keep us up.

Only way this works is if he gets rid of all of McKennas players, no chance they’ll be up for a relegation scrap with GON after McKenna.

I’ll bet GON is sacked before Halloween

Don't like it one bit. If true, we're in a higher division but I prefer Norwich's manager.

Hope I'm proven wrong but it doesn't feel like an appointment to bring hope or excitement.

It’s a good appointment when you zoom out a little.

We won’t be able to play this expansive attacking football in the prem straight away. If we want success, we’re going to have to be resolute for the first couple of years which maybe a bit boring .

The truth is after them 5 years with McKenna, anything would be underwhelming but in reality I don’t think it’s a bad appointment.

Time to rally around and get behind him.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

So massively underwhelming if it happens.

I don’t really trust MA’s judgement - the last 4 transfer windows and the Farage debacle have eroded any confidence I had in him - and so if he’s going to make such a disappointing choice I hope to god he’s right.

At the end of the day we don’t have any control over who’s appointed, and he has to have our support.

Let’s see what he has to say when it’s confirmed.

Ashton gets some stick from some but he’s no mug, have to trust his judgement on this.

Agree, Ashton should take a huge amount of blame for this when it goes tits up (which it will) too many people burying their head in the sand with this appointment.

Like others have mentioned, this will erode all the good word done in the last 5 years.

Ridiculous statement! For a start we have already reset parachute money for another 3 years should the worst happen.

Are suggesting we will be back to league 1 with no money in 5 years time in the same position as when game changer took over and on and off the pitch?

Yep - if he continues to be better than McKenna then great. Think critchley in with him is a very smart move too.

Plenty of prem youths who he will know and should be able to pick up and coach.

Well you wanted McKenna sacked in February so you didn’t think much of the ‘good work’ back then. Just out of interest who should we be appointing given you clearly are an insightful analyst of football?
