Just been reading this, which is a really interesting insight into GO'N's tactical set up.
He's certainly flexible depending on the opposition, and we might need another forward capable of starting in the Premier League, for when O'Neil goes 4-4-2 or 3-5-2.
Thanks for that, feel a lot more comfortable about the impending appointment now. For example, have any of the managers he has played for at Tottenham got as much out of Solanke as O'Neill did at Bournemouth ?
He will do a horses for courses team selection depending on the opponent. Which in the premier league is a must. Not subtle variations of what we always do.

I liked this bit: 'Under O’Neil, Bournemouth had the most interceptions in the Premier League in 2022/23. Back-pressing, doubling up and pinching the ball in front of the receiver were key defensive attributes during O’Neil’s spell in charge at the Vitality Stadium.' Something we lacked (and were on the receiving end of too much) in 2024-25.
That should satisfy those who feel we are missing out on Thomas Frank and his magnetic counters on the whiteboard, and we won't have to put up with him keeping his mouth open whilst he chews either.

Bournemouth had a strong Prem squad compared to what he is inheriting here , we must give him time and that’s essential !!
I can't read it, but if KM had a criticism last time it was the lack of obvious flexibility in the first couple of months. I think he would have been different this time - but given he's not here now what is said of his replacement is certainly hopeful.

True, but we didn't have Matusiwa back then. The ultimate ball-pincher (ooh, Matron).

I thought we had accepted the last PL season relegations wasnt a KMck fail, he was tactically flexible. Simply put, the players were incapable of competing on strength, power, pace and with the exception of Delap and occasionally Hutch we were way out of it player for play irrespective of the formation, structure or tactical tweaks.
