It seems like with anything these days, people seem to take up views, sometimes on the extreme ends of each other and almost become religious in those views to the point of constant contention.
I think it's fair to be somewhat sceptical of how good a decision it is to hire Gary O'Neil, I don't think that makes anyone any less of a Town fan for asking that question, but at the same time, I agree with those who are more optimistic and looking on the good side of things, he equally could be a shrewd appointment.
My bigger long term concern is us ending up like a Burnley or Norwich, bouncing up, doing f'all and just coming back down. I really do not want that, I think we must push the boat out to stay up this time, that means no Ben Godfrey types coming in for me. Every signing really must count and be for this league, not to be promoted with next season.

Having taken a step back, we need to take the two steps forward again. Not just hauling ourselves up into the Prem, but getting both feet there for a firm stance.
It's undeniable that we are in a better position this timewith a team composed of those who were recruited lsat time to play in the top tier, (now having had more experience and two years to "gel" as a group), plus those who have been through a successful Champ campaign to automatic promotion. There is practically nothing of the League One outfit left (looks like Burns may be off, not sure Hirst will survive the summer, would be mildly surprised to see Walton as first choice next season). The foundations we are building on are that much higher.
Still leaves a lot to be done on the recruitment front. As a noted contributor to this board said to me a few weeks ago, we need a spine of Prem experience running from front to back.

When the signings start that will help
At the moment all we can look at is the current squad which is not a prem side and more so not an oneil type side.
