| I see Hull have likely avoided breaching FFP rules 10:50 - Jul 1 with 2692 views | _CliveBaker_ | By selling a little known youngster to Panathinaikos for £2.6m. He's never kicked a ball for the 1st team and was on loan at Scarborough Athletic last season. Guess its just a coincidence their Chairman is very good friends with the Panathinaikos owner... I also notice Ivor Pandur went from Hull to Glasgow Rangers for £6m yesterday, and they're signing Butland from Rangers for £3m today, in the new accounting period. Nothing to see here [Post edited 1 Jul 10:53]

If it's within the rules and its good enough for Newcastle, Everton & Villa to play accounting games. We'll probably see that player return to Hull for £3m+ - a nice little earner for Panathinaikos for helping out for a few months.

I don't blame Hull tbh, especially in this instance where they only risked going over due to promotion related bonuses. But if the rules can be circumvented like that it probably reflects on the appropriateness and robustness of them. That said, they've cut deals in a way that keep themselves in line, however suspect.

In the wider scheme of things at least it's more transparent than many other Clubs.

| I see Hull have likely avoided breaching FFP rules on 12:44 - Jul 1 with 1644 views | darkhorse28 | They breached on £10-15 million player bonus’ .., and still only a small circa £3-5 million breach. So you’re right. Nothing to see. Guess we’ll need to be better on the field than them, which personally, I’d prefer.., let’s hold ourselves to higher standards rather than seeking others failures to succeed. If we can’t finish above Hull, or if they do a Leeds or Sunderland and sail past us with MUCH better recruitment, then the issue isn’t them, it’s us. Look at our recruitment if we struggle to compete. Our 25 relative to what we’ve spent, has a huge amount of investment required, and that’s OUR failure, not Hull, certainly not Leeds and absolutely not Sunderland, Brighton, Brentford, Bournemouth etc etc We can keep pretending we once played Morecombe and that’s our yardstick. They’ve NEVER been a yardstick to measure our great club. | | | |

I think you've misinterpreted by point. I wasn't coming at it from an Ipswich perspective in terms of gaining an advantage. More to highlight the ridiculousness of the rules and ability to circumvent them. Glad to see you're not still peddling the made up transfer spend in 2025 though that you used to spout, that's progress. [Post edited 1 Jul 12:53]

From what I've been told player bonuses after promotion don't impact FFP in the way that's suggested, so assume they must have been over anyway.
