| Out of interest, did many of you watch in a pub? on 10:41 - Jul 6 with 2590 views | nrb1985 | I did. It was busy but nothing like an England game with a normal KO time. Anecdotally, lots of pubs where I was in west london weren't staying open as staff were going to be on time and a half/double time, which massively eats into margins. Really good atmosphere though and very glad I made the effort - weird feeling leaving a pub as the sun is coming up though! [Post edited 6 Jul 10:44]

Did previous 2 nights up till 2 am at a Mod weekender, so I was warmed up sleep wise. Feeling it now though, but in a good way!

Glad to hear some of you making the most of it! I was literally on the sofa with a cup of coco.

Slept and no stress! | |

I was woken by a massive cheer from the house opposite - I suspect it was when the third goal was scored. Went for a run at 6am and saw quite a few people in England shirt’s shambling their rather merry way home. One bloke, probably in his forties fell off a skateboard as I ran past the co op. He appeared to come out of his mis hap in better shape than Jordan Henderson. I was trying to give off virtuous vibes as I was out keeping fit and they were all slaughtered. Truth was that I’d have happily swapped places - 20 years ago I would have loved an all nighter with football thrown in for good measure.

I went past a pub in Chantry at midday and there were a few lads in England shirts already clearly a couple of beers down - did wonder if any of them were going to make it through the 13 hours to kick off. The following morning I drove past a shirtless fan (holding his shirt in his hand) getting escorted out of the bushes next to Birkfield Drive by the police. Wonder if he'd just fallen asleep on the verges.

Getting very drunk and falling asleep in a bush….takes me back to the nineties.
| Out of interest, did many of you watch in a pub? on 18:15 - Jul 8 with 542 views | Churchman | My mate’s son watched it in a pub in Bromley. It was absolutely rammed, apparently. Done it a fair few times, but not in recent years. The oddest was watching England v Brazil in a bar on Cyprus in 2002. To the rafters with supporters, beer was flowing a good time was had by all, even if I did watch it sitting on a pool table. But the commentary was a radio one and the pictures by satellite so totally out of synch. It was fun but as usual, we were garbage and lost (Seaman let one in from the half way line). | | | |
