Szmodics was less out of his depth in the PL than a few of our players - Chaplin, Philogene, Clarke for instance, despite being played out of position. I think we need better than him to have a chance of staying up, but with a new boss, it's possible we could draw a line under the off-field issues & he might have a part to play as a squad filler.

Agree. See his goals against City, the bicycle kick against Spurs, Brentford etc.

I haven't seen the new Brazilian play, but Hirst and Akpom would never be able to replicate that.

Unless injuries has got to him, if not I feel SS can still be a valuable squad player.

We still need to sign 2x experienced 9s though
