| 26 minute half time, plus two hydration breaks on 09:54 - Jul 15 by GlasgowBlue | The whole thing is unnecessary. Nobody would have complained had the concert taking place before the game. They could have played een longer than 25 minutes. I watched a fair bit of the World Cup in Australia on SBL nad they used the hydration breaks in order to show ads. I assume the USA broadcasters did the same whereas our broadcasters chose not to. Having a concert will take up ad time so I don't see the benefit in having the show at half time. |
I must have been in Aus/NZ the same time as you too. It surprised me when the adverts came on during those 'hydration breaks'. However, it was widely reported that they were put in at the request of some of the larger American sponsors to FIFA to increase their brand exposure. Hydration break was just the perceived acceptable phrase to insert them in. FIFA already committing to them for future tournaments while UEFA have said not a chance of them happening. | | | |

| WC Final half time on 17:51 - Jul 15 with 172 views | Pinewoodblue | There is also a closing ceremony / show an hour and a half before kick off. There are six performers in the half time show which is scheduled to last just 11 minutes they will use an on pitch stage which has to be assembled and disassembled before the second half can start. There is a strict rule that halftime should be no longer than 15 minutes, clubs can be disciplined / fined if they break this rule.presumably this doesn’t apply to F.I.F.A. They will do well to kick off 30 minutes after the halftime whistle goes. | |
