| 2 weeks after the murder of Ann Widdecombe on 20:58 - Jul 27 by wrightsrightglove | Yes. However, it’s disingenuous to say he posted it, and to also crop the picture to make it look like this is the only image he liked. It was a series of 20 pictures, a lot of which featured himself, and there’s the possibility that he didn’t look at every image in detail. If he did see the image and still like the post then that’s both ridiculous and horrendous, if he didn’t then it’s massively naive that he’s still liking things without properly assessing them. What is ridiculous is that a green “supporter” would wear something like that, and that someone would think it’s a good idea to take a picture of it and then post it alongside pictures of the green leader. It seems like they’re constantly undermining themselves with stupidity / naivety at the moment |
He shared it to his timeline. He was tagged. Like Facebook, if you are tagged you are given the option to review the content you are tagged in and accept before it is shared on your timeline. I don’t share anything on my timeline I am tagged in before reviewing it. This isn’t the first time Polanski has shared something on social media before deleting it after it has caused offence. The last time was the criticism of how the police dealt with the Golders Green stabbing. Is he now falling back on the same defence Lineker used on the “rat” meme and Corbyn in the antisemitic mural? Amazing how these so called serious people share stuff without actually seeing what they share.

It was 20 pictures, one of which had someone with a slogan on a t-shirt. Any normal person can see how that could easily be missed when accepting.

I'd like to think that if it was a left wing post disingenuously smearing a right wing politician I would do the same, but I'm not sure that I would. We really need less of this. |
Where has he been smeared? You think every single post he’s tagged in just magically appears on his profile? You have to manually approve posts. The reframing is brilliant and the reason I asked for a simple yes or no in my opinion as I knew that some of his supporters would perform mental gymnastics in order to find an out for him. Sad to see. [Post edited 28 Jul 7:55]

I agree. People in his position have got to be checking EVERYTHING. Everything little detail. This thread is proof of that. I daresay his excuse is the truth but it's not really good enough.

No, you asked for a simple yes or no because you wanted to avoid the context. It's pretty clear how the mistake could be made by anyone, without any mental gymnastics being needed. The new look Glassers is worse than the old one.

Oh, because he's not right-wing it's just a mistake? Yeah, OK. There are a few on here who seem completely unaware of their own lack of self-awareness or their inability to see beyond the end of their own nose. It's all snide comments and acting like they're on the right side of every debate. Between this thread and the Berlin attack one, watching people bend over backwards trying to pin everything on the right has been quite something. If it wasn't so funny to watch, it'd be painful.

I do agree with you in the sense that people are responsible for what they post or share or like. More so, if they are in the public eye or are in a position of trust or responsibility. The fact that he liked twenty or so photos simultaneously does not dilute this point - it’s down to him to check, and if he does not have the time to do so then hire someone to do so for him. But you didn’t ask for a simple yes or no to out-manoeuvre your so-called mental gymnasts- you did so to try and control the narrative of your OP. You didn’t want a debate at all or for context to be offered - you just wanted control. Sad to see.

I think most people’s posts, mine included, are pretty balanced and discuss that, if he did see the picture then it’s horrendous, but also appreciate the fact that it’s possible he didn’t see that specific picture. It seems like you’re so set on hating someone that you’ll gladly share a post which is pretty disingenuous, to the extent that it took in several people on here, without providing adequate context (hence the ‘simple yes or no’ question). I’m not sure what the aim of that is or if that’s the person you want to be / the politics you want to encourage but, to me, it’s one of the many, many things wrong with modern politics.

Have done likewise...big difference between accepting being tagged on online content, and posting or even sharing the content yourself, so downvoted for mis/disinformation in the tweet linked in the OP. So in answer to the question in the OP, No, ZP hasn't gone too far; seems to have made a genuine error, condemned the image on the T-Shirt and removed that content from his IG account...if the question in the OP was "Has the wearer of the T-Shirt gone too far?", then in light of recent events, 100% Yes.

Maddening really, they should be much smarter than this because Reform will scream to daddy about absolutely anything given the slightest opportunity. Reform certainly don't seem to have much issue circulating an image – an unacceptable image by the way – that relatively few would have encountered otherwise. [Post edited 28 Jul 9:16]

Brilliant post. Polanski's social media admin (if you think the leader of a modern political party has the time and skill to post on Instagram, you're a fool) has shared this without properly scanning all 20 images within it. Is that a mistake? Of course. Is it a big one? Honestly, not really. Collaborating on one Instagram post is a quick job. ZP has owned the mistake, condemned the t-shirt... and we probably have two days of front page news about this, yet again distracting from anything remotely of importance in this country that's heading for a cliff edge.

| 2 weeks after the murder of Ann Widdecombe on 09:41 - Jul 28 with 866 views | Pendejo | Yes. No. Maybe, can you repeat the question? Given Reform deliberately edited a Labour minister's words (Robert Jenrick on Jo White) for them to also edit this to fit their self styled victim person should not be a surprise For any sentient human being to make, let alone wear, something as crass as this in unacceptable and even a minor error on the part of ZP indicates a lack of judgement unbecoming of a serious politician. Truly difficult to type that last bit, as I've lost faith in our politicians as a group, regardless of party... so would question if we have any politicians serious about truly serving the public, rather than themselves (or their puppet masters) The only assassination I want to see are character assassination, ideally in a court of law, because until there are consequences for the grift, lying, cheating, stealing, chumocracy shit that's been the feature of 21st century politics. Yes that T shirt is crass, but Farage is the Emperor of Crass, and being a committed conspiracy theorist would even be surprised if the situation was deliberately set up to damage a political rival | |

Your first post re the image which has universally been condemned by everyone posting on this thread said “good T-shirt though!” and was followed up by another depicting Thatcher being clubbed on the back of the head by a horseman at full gallop. In the context of the murder of politicians in recent years, that’s disgraceful and why I reported abuse. Imagine if right-wingers on here had posted links to similar images of violence perpetrated on Corbyn (not that I think they would).
