What a nightmare situation then find themselves in.

Came down, got 90 points but it wasn’t enough, smashed Bristol City in the SFs and were the better side against Sunderland in the final, didn’t go up. Followed it up a disastrous AI induced summer window on their second year of PL relegation cash. Sacked their manager, went back to Wilder and now have a bang average squad on high wages, parachute paymentless (is that a phrase?) in what looks like the strongest Championship in years.

Meanwhile a Sunderland are in Europe and Yorkshire neighbors Hull find themselves in the top flight and must be one of the worst sides to ever get promoted.

It was so important we got up last year even with 7 odd points less.

Funny ole game!

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Yep, I was desperate to get promoted last season for financial rather than sporting reasons. Whis is wrong, but for the future of the club we needed the TV cash to 'right our wrongs' in the transfer market.

Have they lost many from last season?

They were pretty much in PO form once Wilder came back, and they’ll be easier to get in this season.

They had a purple patch but regressed. If the league started end of Feb, they finished 14th taking 15 points from last 12 .

Kieffer Moore giving away possession cheaply, basically passing to Tommy Watson who finished with aplomb. Sunderland had already agreed a £10M fee from Brighton for Watson. Watson now on loan at Leicester, funny ole game indeed.

I have far less sympathy for them but ...Sheffield Wednesday as well

It's been a funny old time up here in Sheffield in relation to football

I had the benefit of having a few hours with Dean Windass a few months back and I asked him who he deemed as the best football club in Yorkshire ...his answer was Bradford City

I think they're all rubber ducked apart from Leeds really right now
